Sad news from my hometown

I was raised in a Baptist church in a nearby small town. I am no longer Baptist, haven't been since I became an adult, but still have lots of wonderful memories there. Today the church made national news and not in a good way. While on a Sr's trip to the mountains of Tennessee, the tour bus was hit by a tractor-trailer truck which then caught on fire. Eight people are dead and 14 critically injured. A front tire blew on the bus causing the accident. Life is so very fragile......

It's always sad when a bus or train carrying many passengers has a catastrophic accident.
I'm thinking of you, Katybug. Do you still have connections to that area?

Yes, I do, Warrigal. Very close friends still live there, and I visit fairly often, tho I haven't had contact w/members from the church in a very time. The church friends that I was close to moved away from Statesville as well. But these victims, as seniors, would be close in age to me and I'm anxiously awaiting the release of names. That will probably be sometime today. My heart goes out to all the families involved. I can't imagine the pain, and I suspect it may be losing both parents/g'parents in some cases and that's going to be so hard to deal with. It's a tragedy where no one is to blame, just one of those things that nightmares are all about. God bless 'em all.

that is sad news, yes life is fragile, it pays to get on with your life,be happy, you never know what tomorrow will bring.
