what major towns and cities are in Souther California ?
Southern California, often shortened to SoCal, is a geographic and cultural region that generally comprises the southern portion of the U.S. state of California1. It includes the Los Angeles metropolitan area, the second most populous urban agglomeration in the United States1. The region generally contains ten of California’s 58 counties: Imperial, Kern, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Ventura1.
Here are some of the major towns and cities in Southern California:

th

  1. Los Angeles: The largest city in Southern California, known for its Mediterranean climate, ethnic diversity, and the entertainment industry1.

  1. San Diego: Known for its beaches, parks, and warm climate1.
  1. Avalon: One of the two small towns on the largely unspoiled Catalina Island2.

  1. Big Bear Lake: Known for the charming lakeside village and the famed Big Bear Mountain Resort2.
  1. Riverside and San Bernardino: These form the Inland Empire, another large metropolitan area1.
  1. Oxnard–Thousand Oaks–Ventura: This forms another metropolitan area1.
There are also other towns like Hermosa Beach, Santa Monica, and others that are part of Southern California1. Each of these towns and cities has its own unique attractions and characteristics. Please let me know if you need information on any specific town or city.

I lived in San Diego (Claremont) as a high school sophomore. Significant, was over an inch at Borrego Springs in the vast desert Anza Borrego State Park where an exceptional bloom of wildflowers is now certain by late February. Rainfall has also been very high across the border region all the east through Arizona that will also become wonderfully green with flowers.

Here's how much rain fell around San Diego County — and which 8 cities broke records

New records for Jan. 22:

San Diego International Airport: The 2.73 inches that fell broke the previous record of 1.53 inches, set in 1967.
Oceanside Harbor: The 2.10 inches that fell broke the record of 0.98 inches, set in 2010.
Vista: The 1.83 inches that fell broke the record of 1.08 inches, set in 2010.
Chula Vista: The 1.56 inches that fell broke the record of 1.15 inches, set 2010.
Ramona: The 1.65 inches that fell broke the record of 1.18 inches, set in 2017.
Alpine: The 2.57 inches that fell broke the record of 0.85 inches, set in 1996.
El Cajon: The 2.98 inches that fell broke the record of 2.48 inches, set in 1909.
Campo: The 3.22 inches that fell broke the record of 1.68 inches, set in 2010.

Yeah, I said after driving in LA, that I'd never complain about Orlando traffic again.

That didn't last long.....
Sorry to hijack the thread, but Orlando traffic is horrible these days... especially on I-4. We do a family vacation each year where we rent a house or cabin. Several years ago we went to Orlando so the kids could go to Disney World and Universal Studios. The traffic was a nightmare! I grew up in Tampa and remember when Disney World first opened. We used to have friends and relatives visit and we always took them there. I can't believe the increase in traffic these days!

Makes my good friend crazy. Apparently there are a lot of reckless drivers on their roads. She often calls me when she's on the freeway and she'll be fussin' and cussin' :ROFLMAO:
I hope it's "hands free". My phone connects to my car and my speakers. Otherwise I won't use it unless I'm parked somewhere. I see so many people driving with their phones in front of their faces and they are the ones that don't move forward when the light changes or drift into other lanes.

You know I love you, Diva, but you need to have a good talk with your friend, but not in her car. :ROFLMAO:

Hmm, I hate to say it, but ... she's on the phone while she's driving on the freeway, and complaining about other drivers?
Well people have cars now in which they can put their calls on speaker so it's hands free as @seadoug mentioned. My son does it sometimes and he's an excellent driver. He's gotten several safe driving awards from JB Hunt (trucking) since he started working there almost 10 years ago. Not likely I'll ever be in her car Doug because I have no intention of ever going to California. :D

The storms move east past SanDiego and into Arizona. I have recorded 2.5 inches since Sunday. Weeds are already starting to sprout everywhere. Many new potholes in the streets. It’s not unusual to have rain in January, but usually not so concentrated in a few days.
