It has hit the serving officers really hard. I have been in touch with a couple of officers, one serving the other retired, both said that so many police offers feel tainted by association. Adding, how do we convince the public that we are here to serve? Whilst it is very rare it does make headlines, and from the headlines that I have seen on the news desk in the supermarket, the gutter press have made some appalling suggestions.

I heard about this on national ABC news, but it was just the headline version. What are the details, please? What happened? All I heard was she was walking home alone late at night and the perp was a police officer. Uniformed? Thanks.

The heavy handed approach of the police in breaking up the vigil at Clapham Common hasn't helped the image of the London constabulary.
