Saw a Potential Scammer at the Gas Station

He was filling up his company truck...but also filled up a bunch of cans with gas and placed them in the back of his truck. I thought of getting his plate and telling his company what he was doing...but then I just figured I'd stay out of it.

He was either biting the hand that feeds him, or he was filling up those cans for smaller machines on the job. I worked for a shipping company, and a coworker was fired for stealing gas in the same manner this guy was doing.

I had a deadbeat brother-in-law one time, who after being hired, the company started noticing motor oil missing. He stole things all his life, but always denied it. The company had to start locking up the motor oil. This offended another truck driver who didn't steal the motor oil. He discussed it with me, so I told him about my deadbeat brother-in-law.

Probably a stupid question, but how do you know he didn't pay for the extra gas. It would be hard to fool the meter.?

I see. Yes, I had a company truck for awhile. I do remember how closely they watched how much we'd drive and how much gas we used. It was very hard to fool this company.
