Scary - be vigilant

Not only do I use Facebook, but I invested in it (FB) at $34.00 in 2012. Today, it is selling at $78.00 per share. No complaints here.

Very good point and people here give out a lot of info about when they'll be away from home, what their finances are like and so on.

Who here knows where any of us live? Or non-members browsing forums? We might know the town but we certainly don't know the address. I don't post photos of my house although I do take some from my front porch. If you know my area well you might be able to find my house. But I'm not worried.

I get so much pleasure out of Facebook that there's no way I'd ever be scared into quitting it. My FB friends are family, in-laws, friends I know IRL - in real life - or friends I've known online for years and trust. I've found old friends and in-laws I'd lost touch with years ago. I have friends in the US, UK, Ireland, Uganda, Australia.

I joined FB in 2008 while living in Uganda. When my grand-niece was being born the following year my SIL in the US and I were in the virtual waiting room keeping up with the progress through FB. My nephew posted photos of his new daughter on FB just after she was born. I highly doubt he'd have bothered to attach and email these photos to all his family and friends.

My FB friends range in age from my 16 year old niece, to my brother's 80+ year old mother in law.
