Scientists Now Say "All Humans Came From a Solitary Pair" aka Adam & Eve

All modern humans descended from a solitary pair who lived 100,000 to 200,000 years ago, scientists say.
Scientists surveyed the genetic 'bar codes' of five million animals - including humans - from 100,000 different species and deduced that we sprang from a single pair of adults.

Also proven: a catastrophic event that almost wiped out the human race aka Flood

These bar codes, or snippets of DNA that reside outside the nuclei of living cells, suggest that it's not just people who came from a single pair of beings, but nine out of every 10 animal species, too

Stoeckle and Thaler, the scientists who headed the study, concluded that ninety percent of all animal species alive today come from parents that all began giving birth at roughly the same time, less than 250 thousand years ago - throwing into doubt the patterns of human evolution.

The research showed that humans have very low genetic diversity and variants within the species, similar to many other animals.

I always look to nature. Did all dogs come from a single pair of wolves?

I do do believe a pair of humans mated to create the human species. That's how it seems to work in nature.

i also wonder about inbreeding which decimates an isolated population.

inbreeding must have been put on hold for awhile.

raybar...good post but the Forbes article was written by a young guy who is not a scientist, just a journalist and doesn't cite any studies to back up his claims. I always thought Forbes sounded like a reputable source but I changed my mind a few years ago when I experienced an obviously false article but can't share it's specifics here since it was politically motivated.

Dave...lol, I'm sure the inbreeding in the beginning of creation was purposefully orchestrated by God to fit into His perfect plan via man and woman to procreate.

I don't understand your resonse. The 2nd paragraph of the article is as follows:

"....The study in question was actually published in May and received coverage at the time, but has been picked up again. Its authors were Mark Stoeckle of Rockefeller University in New York and David Thaler of the University of Basel in Switzerland. It appeared in the journal Human Evolution, and it is "open access" so anyone can read it....".

The source is cited, the author is skeptical of a number of things and as stated, you can read the whole thing for yourself.

Retired Traveler...I already did "read the whole thing" :) The source you're citing is MY source I used in my post #1...a study by Stoeckle and Thaler that proves "All humans DID descended from a single couple". Just because the study was published in May and is now being published again doesn't make it wrong. Bringing it up again 6 months later doesn't mean anything, right?

raybar posted that Forbes published a journalist's disagreement in an article he wrote saying "No. Descendents are probably are NOT all descended from a single couple". My question is where is this journalist's proof and what study or facts back up the journalist's claim that Stoeckle and Thaler are "probably wrong"? He only says the DNA used isn't enough to identify a species. Who says?

So we're all related to Adam and Eve ?......heck I always thought all of our really distant kin folks were monkeys.

You and all evolutionists :)
Humans and animals have evolved somewhat as we've adjusted to climate etc, BUT not from one species to another.

So we all married our siblings. This explains the sad history of the human species. One theory is unproven like all theories. To me, who cares?
