Seeing evil (in another). Is it extra sensory? Can you see evil?

I can see evil if it's in another person, if they intend to do me harm. I can even see/sense evil in someone behind me who I am obviously not facing. It has saved me from being the victim of crime on at least one occasion. Can you see evil in another person, I mean by this evil intent towards you or others. Would that be an extra sensory gift? I don't really know how to categorize/describe it. Maybe someone can help me with that.

Perhaps you are an empath.

I think sometimes we just pick up a bad vibe from people for no particular reason. Maybe we're just unconsciously responding to body language or there is something about the person that reminds us of an earlier unfortunate event in our life.

The eyes are the windows to the soul. I believe we can see evil... absolutely because it's in the "empty" eyes. I don't think it's ESP necessarily... it's very visible when there's soul-darkness. The thing about feeling it when you can't look at the person's eyes, though... that's another issue and I can't answer that one.

I understand what you mean, but I tend to agree with @caroln in my case.
An example: while visiting my daughter in FL, she was starting a new relationship and I was excited to meet him. From what I had heard and saw in some pics I was well prepared to like him.
Then, he walked in the back door. I was instantly caught off guard, as I felt vibes immediately he was an abuser like my second husband.
As we sat at the dinner table, he never addressed me directly, always talking through the grandchilden...."I don't like chocolate cake, but I'm sure your grandmother will understand I don't care for any."

It caused a rift between my daughter and myself for many years. She is now with someone else. That didn't last too long, but I don't know the circumstances.

I can sometimes feel like I see a person as evil, but if its based on looks alone I'm usually wrong...

Had a dog once that was very friendly to 99% of the people she met, but there was that 1% she feared and ran from. Again I think she was wrong in her choices, one of our nicest neighbors was in the 1%. But who knows he may have been a very well disguised serial killer... but I don't think so.

I’ve always thought of it as a natural instinct to get the feeling that someone may hurt us or that a person isn’t a good person. I’ve never thought that it might be EXTRA sensory perception… just a normal perception to preserve ourselves much like any animal has. Some are better at it than others, just like any trait.

'Waves of Bad Feelings' surround some people. Years ago, in Mass. the state welcomed refugees from the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Mass. very generous state. Anyway, some of the young people were thugs. I was taking a beach walk, with my cane, in the distance coming at me were about 4 of these kids. I swear, they had a black cloud surrounding them, I could actually see it. So, I WAS PREPARED. As they approached, one of them, on a bike, leaned over to snatch my cane. I was ready, I stuck the cane in the spoke of his wheel and he went down! They gasped, and started to run! I was waving the cane at them, deliberately screaming as to what I would do to them. I terrified them.

Sometimes I am so proud of myself. Anyway, that's what I saw 'waves of bad feeling' as their vibes.

I've always had the gift of discernment. When I was younger, I didn't know what this "gift" was or how to pay attention to it, but a few scary situations in my life, taught me what discernment was and I've listened to that little voice inside that tells me that something isn't quite right with a person or situation.

For example...years ago my son told me he was getting married and he wanted us to meet her. We met them at a nice restaurant and when she walked in the red flags immediately came up and my first thought was...she's trouble. I was very upset. I couldn't understand how he couldn't see that he was in for a boatload of misery. She didn't like us right off the bat because she knew that we knew what she was. My son's best friend (and best man) tried to warn him off from marrying her but by then, she was 5 months pregnant and he wanted to do the right thing. He couldn't see the forest for the trees, as the old saying goes. Fast forward a few years and another child and his life was hell. She refused to live anywhere but with her parents. In the meantime, she had had an affair with someone else and was pregnant with twins and aborted them but my son stuck by her. She drove a wedge between us and my son and we weren't allowed to see the grandkids. She use to beat him up on top of all this.

I kept kicking myself for not trying to do something to make him see what he was getting into but I think he wouldn't have listened to me. They have been divorced for many years but she still sends me hate email and lies so much about him and us that his kids don't have anything to do with him or us. I knew this was coming when I first laid eyes on her.

Yup. Some have a dead, flat look in their eyes like they don't have a soul. It's weird. But not all are like that

No, I can't see evil. Someone may look mean and nasty or unhinged in some way, but I've never sensed "evil" without some act or words on their part that indicate the person is dangerous or hurtful.
I agree, I can't see evil or feel it necessarily.. As you rightly say RR.. one can look at someone and ''perceive evil'' because someone shows that they are likely to be by their words or actions, or we may get a gut feeling something is very wrong with a person, and stay out of their way..again by their words or actions.. but to ''see evil'' when someone seems to be acting normally.. no.. I haven't... but I wished I had, it would have saved me a couple of times in my life from serious harm

@chic.. I need you to be my bodyguard.. :D

chic, I don't think you have some magic power. You're extremely observant in determining the intent of others. Most animals have some kind of "intent' radar. Cats and dogs can differentiate between being kicked, out of anger, and an innocent trip.
I didn't say I had a magic power, just something others may not have or be aware of if they do and I am glad I have it. :)

I once visited a friend several times who I had met through a forum.

When it was four of us together, me, her, and both our hubbies I sensed nothing wrong. But then something/someone happened and the one day she was just sitting there watching me and it was a different vibe altogether. Just felt this creepy stare. We were in a room alone without the guys present. I asked her if I had spinach in my teeth, she did not answer, almost seemed like she was in a trance,

It was weird and the friendship fell apart shortly after.

yes , see, that's what I mean Lee... you sensed something by her actions.. which is how most of us sense evil intent

Absolutely, Chic. We can see evil and we can feel it near us. I've never thought it was a special gift but realize that not everyone has it. I've known others who feel it and in fact, I think many people have it. I never disregard that feeling, not anymore.

Don't let anyone tell you it's not a real thing. I understand that some don't believe that and I just say that's fine, some don't even believe in evil.

Hmm, I believe we can sense things. But "seeing" evil, no I don't think so.
Look at Ted Bundy for one. Successful, well liked, charming, etc., yet one of the most prolific serial killers to have existed. Humans are good at masking/hiding darkness.
Not to contradict you, I just want to point out another view of what you said. You are absolutely correct that a lot of women didn't sense evil in Ted Bundy but we will never know how many may have sensed it and steered clear of him.

I saw bad intentions in someone once and didn't realize what I was seeing. I had an outer body experience with this man in the room. He was the brother of my then boyfriend. The man ended up harming me after that. I was scared to death of him till after he died. I had talked to him before he died of cancer 40 years later. He had not changed one bit in behavior.

I really am glad he died. He was a mean man. Very mean.
