Seeing evil (in another). Is it extra sensory? Can you see evil?

Sociopaths & Psychopaths are actually hard to read, and are usually viewed positively.
I think you're right about that, Nathan. However, I think there are people in every instance who sense something is wrong. They probably don't know what is wrong but they sense that something is off. That doesn't mean I think I could do that every time, I only know I have sensed it and I know I have missed it, as well.

No, I only seem to see the good in people (at least at first). Sometimes this works to my advantage. Sometimes not.
Seeing good in people is a good quality too. There are some people who really need someone to see the good in them. What's that old saying about "good in the worst of us, and bad in the best of us?" I think that might not be quite right and someone will probably know.

Nope. Some people who appeared evil to me turned out to be really good people. Some people who did a lot of good deeds turned out to be jerks who just liked getting attention that way. My daughter was obsessed with people having dead eyes. She was bi-polar and was of course interpreting things through her manic episodes, but she was sure she was right.

What's cool is, if we sense that someone is evil, we can treat them like crap and tell everyone else to treat them like crap, and then even if they weren't evil initially, they can resent being treated like crap and become evil. It becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy! Fun!

Well, evil, I believe can be felt, recognized and seen. Recently I was told to apply for some low income housing. The place was close and had a unique building. But something told me "Don't apply, stay away"

Turns out, this place is very questionable regarding safety, care and concern. In fact, one resident was so taken with a caregiver, he'd get her gifts and she was a good friend to him, but this didn't set right with another.

So, he waited till they walked in, shot them both and then went to his own apartment. This wasn't common, but fights and such are as I found out.

At various times. I met people who I surely wanted to punch out. It wasn't rage, but that "They're not really bad evil, but they're mean and selfish" I'd learn later, some beat their wife, kids or animals.

Once, standing with my bil, a pair of Sikh walked by, his dog let off a growl and I was stunned. He said "She knows evil better than most people"

That dog was just a typical mutt, but some I've found, seemed to know bad people just by their existence.

However, animals also act oddly, but there may be a reason, I submit the following video.

I don't know if I can sense evil. I have worked with people that I knew were dangerous and I needed to be cautious with. That usually means trying to get along with them because if you don't, they can retaliate.

Animals have a built in sixth sense that lets them "pick up" on
negative, or evil, behavior or possible issues with folks
in general...I learned this while working in Animal Control
service in Calif/florida.....good example is Cesar the behavior guy in USA has a tv show about training, tends to train the
owners rather than pets.....

I have also found that I tend to look at people general appearance and determine wether they may be harmful to
me or others in the future...not a science but works for me...

I must be a bad person then, because some dogs freak out around me. I think it's because they smell my fear.
I think the fear thing may be it if you are afraid of them.

My calico knows when I need to get her: vet visit, even brushing, hair ball medication or more recently when she was on a prednisone pill. It was a total chase around the apartment. I must give off some kind of anxiety signal to her. Now that she's on a half tab, I can hide the pill in food and that's working.

My previous precious calico was diabetic for over 11 years. She never knew or recognized the syringes or was bothered by the sub-cutaneous shots twice a day. I had to give this calico vitamin B12 shots and she had a fit. I think if this one became diabetic I'd have to not treat.

Or, you're a stranger.

I once attended another Halloween party in Missouri (while living in Iowa) and the host had (get ready for it) SEVEN huskies!

He warned everyone "They will select a few people they just won't like and bark, this is normal" so I was sitting on the couch when three same by and two growled at me.

Sigh. As a animal lover, that hurt, but I accepted it.

Was there ever any confirmation that they were bad people. It might just have been unique scents on their clothes.

Were you right? Was he?
I really don't know, as I said I was out of the picture for several years. Being as she did reach out last year, to let me know she had been with another for 3 years, and they bought a home together, seems she wants to make amends without saying I may have been right.
In any case, I'm glad he's out of the picture.

Since it is my nature to try to see the good in people, I can say I've never seen evil (in a person). I have sensed something ominous in a house though. Just for the heck of it, my husband and I toured two houses in South Carolina. The first one was nice but could have used some updating. It had nice, warm wooden accents throughout.

The second house had mahogany trim and as we went through the rooms I felt something that's hard to describe, but I couldn't wait to leave. I told my husband if we lived in that house, I'd probably go to the local bar all the time (and we didn't even drink)! I felt that something bad happened in that house but I couldn't say what.
