Senior Forums! How do you read and what do you read?

On your phone? Computer? Tablet?
Once a day? Off and on throughout the day? Only occasionally?
New Threads? Only certain forums? Only certain members?

What types of threads most often catch your attention? What types do you avoid? Do you often use the search function?

(Thread title shamelessly stolen from Keesha - April 2018 :);))

My phone is just used as a phone. I don't like navigating on it, so I only use my laptop (off and on throughout the day) to access SF. I do not stay logged in at all times.

Usually, I click "What's New" -> then, "New Posts." If a thread title catches my eye, I click it on in a new tab to check it out, but I'll only do reactions if I don't feel like contributing at that time, even though I may go bact to it later if an idea comes to mind.

I'm trying (sometimes unsuccessfully) to avoid posting to threads that seem controversial, but I often read them just to see what members are saying.

That would be laptop most of the time and tablet occasionally.

Off and on throughout the day because I'm a freelance writer and am always working with the word processor, so it's easy (sometimes too easy!) to pop in here to see what's going on.

I'll read anything that catches my attention, but what I avoid is the types of threads containing what I consider "fluff questions." Did that stint in high school and no longer interested.

Tablet
Off & on.
Only certain forums.
I mostly avoid downer threads & controversial threads. I’m the one who thrives on Hallmark movies🤠
No to the search function.

Only the phone.

If a thread is an endless stream of links elsewhere, or too long winded I look for something else to read.

And the morons who cannot control their political hate posts get blocked. As said before, there are many places on the internet to go swim in poop, go relax there.

I pretty much follow in Mack's footsteps. Just the laptop and on and off during the day.

On my computer which is a laptop but is closed and has an HDMI cable to my monitor and a mouse and keyboard attached so it works just like a desktop computer.

I check SeniorForums a few times a day. First I go through notifications to see which threads have been updated and visit those. Then I to to What's New and go two to three pages in to see if anything catches my eye.

I will occasionally go into a forum and look to see if a thread already exists before adding something new. When I do sometimes I find other interesting threads and read and/or reply to those.

I mainly use a iPad ,

I’ve got a laptop almost a year old and Ive still not used it enough to know how to bookmark or what ever you do with windows 11 ….to save sites…

I dont use my verrrrry old LP online as that’s just for my use if I want to do any machine embroidery

It depends on which browser you use. I've done technical support for years and have helped people of all levels of computer experience. I was going to send you a message but when I click on your name to see your profile it says you limit who can see it. You may be able to send me a message and I can reply to that. Just let me know which browser you're using when you get into SeniorForums.

I check in SFs a few times a day. I like the music posts the most since I find myself looking for an escape from all the crap that's going on in the world.

Most of the time I'm on my PC in my office, but when I'm out and waiting for something (like in a doctor's office), I'll check in with my phone, but I usually won't post since I'm not good at typing with my thumbs.

I like holding a book in my hands, and, will read anything and everything. My sister gives me bags full of books, and I borrow books from the library. My brother gifts me books from Amazon .. subjects I wouldn't normally choose. I've enjoyed them all.

I come to SF twice/day to see what's happening on my laptop
I read a lot,I buy my books from local independent bookstore {am a member} Target or online store I found last yr, Thrift Books in Dallas, TX. I also read some books from our library here at Canterbury Woods-Gates

I'm on my desktop most of the day, working, so I check in several times a day. It's hard to stay on top of the threads because this is an active forum, which is a good thing.

The only posts I tend to avoid are the ones that contain a link to a story or video without any sort of explanation.

For myself, I access Senior Forums from the desktop in my study, typically at the start of my day. Only occasionally (like now) do I check back in at other times. I click on New posts and scan through about five pages of threads.

If I hover the cursor over a thread title and just see a link I'll usually skip over it. OTOH, there are certain long-running threads that I always enjoy keeping up with. Otherwise I just read what interests me at the time.

I'm sure most of us have individual members that we especially enjoy reading. (And some who are no longer active . . . I really miss hearing from Gary O and Ruth in Jersey). Some seem like old friends. Some pre-date me here; others are more recent. I don't think I have anyone blocked, but there are certainly those who I won't waste time reading their posts.

I have, and continue to, learn a lot on this site. Thank you @Matrix for making it available to us. (y)
