I googled this and got a link to a you tube video...then the message

"This video isn't available anymore"

Amazon shows this

and then says "We're sorry, an error has occurred. Please reload this page and try again."

Walmart has it : Robot or human?

Took down the video after feeling like why should I ? Selling the book was not the reason for releasing it, poets make very little money. The worst occupation you can have, it shouldn’t be called a profession but a mere hobby. I did it to purge my thoughts and concerns along with many other seniors. The publisher, North Orchard Press went out of business the beginning of this year. Proud of the work and the accolades from some pretty good critics.

I am 71 and have been forced into retirement. After realizing the past is the past and will never be again, I started over. With what I knew I had in my possession at that time a sense of humor, realistic vision of what had happened to me and others and a passionate urge to tell our stories a seniors. We are all on this same train and we get off and on as time passes. What we do with the time given to us is the most important.
I am not a robot, a spiteful old man, a mystery person, no salesperson or anything of that sort.
Within the last 3 years I have written and published my first book of “Blue Collar Poetry”, created and hosted 2 podcasts for seniors based on issues, concerns, education and entertaining interviews with normal everyday people and celebrities within all walks of life. I am currently in the process of releasing my first audiobook hopefully this spring.
I am not one to boast or puff I tend to be the guy in the background, replying only to show transparency and sincerity.
My career in the building materials industry started out in the natural stone industry and lead me to open factories around the world. IF you have a stone or man-made counter top that is what I am talking about.
I am open to share any of my new audio work if I can post or you can Google,
“View from the Back Window / Blue Collar Poetry on Life”.
As why I disappeared from the site after posting I wasn’t hiding I just had something to do, I like to stay busy, while I can.
Thank you for sharing, c'mon in and make yourself at home.

Thank you for answering my questions.
I sincerely hope you enjoy your stay here.
I’ve been here 6 years this March.

I wish I could have seen some of your work. You sound very good at expressing yourself. I am glad you found this site and hope you feel free to share whatever you'd like, whenever you'd like, with whomever you'd like. :)

Solitude

Can you say you are ever truly alone?

In your mind or in your home

Being quiet and still to hear every squeak and gust of wind

But is anyone else within

Your soul?

Is your God with you?

And if not are you lonely?

Are you strong enough to endure the solitude

Or do you seek the holy

Warmth of love and support

Perhaps the knowing there is someone there is the comfort

You need?

When we say we are loners, the idea of companionship

Is overlooked

But when things go bad, do we find the “good book”?

If we pray or ask for forgiveness, help and guidance

Then that would mean we are in the presence

And even that mental conversation would break the silence

Of solitude

The magnitude of silence and the work that can be done

Within one’s mind and heart

Can only start with a conversation with God first

If you are filled with sorrow, pain or the fear of the unknown

Remember you are never truly alone

Senior citizens are considered at some point to be in the “invisible” segment of society

And as we struggle with being alone and squirming with our anxieties

We often find the only friend

Unfortunately near the end

Of our journey

It’s a shame we wasted all the previous years

Perhaps we were convincing then to shrug off the fears

But as time passes and friends and family disappear

I now reach for the internal friend

That has always been near

My God

I was contemplating this whole idea yesterday. I was once a born again Christian with a faith that was HOT! Praise the Lord, for everything. Prayed many times a day, out loud. Read and was comforted by the word of God, and the books, and fellowship with other Christians. I haven't had that faith in over 40 years now.

I was wondering if, as I keep getting older, and the inevitable insecurities keep piling up, if it would be a good practice to get back into. Praying out loud, and conversing with God again. I might come to that at some point, but for now "solitude" is good enough. I can calm down to accepting the pain, and discomfort. I can learn to be patient in the face of trouble. I really don't believe in God anymore, so I don't think getting to know him/her/it is going to work.
