Yes, things were very different back then. A twelve year old kid shouldnât have been out at a mall but the most obvious fault is the kid with a gun. If he had no gun, seven children wouldnât have been injured.
My parents werenât your typical parents. We were clothed and had no lack of good food. We had a roof over our head too so I have no complaints about that. Social services were called at times as well as the police but it never changed the outcome. Note: I protected my family by lying.
When I was a young teenage, I hung out with my brothers. At that time, I had two of them. I lost one of them a few years later. He got run over by a truck.
When our stage band did play in malls, others would offer to buy me drinks but I wasnât really a drinker back then. Most of my drinking was done when I left home at 16.
Hot knives are used to smoke hash. You leave the knives on the stove to heat up the harsh, then inhale the smoke. My parents found the knives we thought weâd hidden but even then my brothers didnât really get into trouble. They were 2 and 4 years older than me. They trusted my older brother completely.
Who is to say why someone needed to take a gun to the mall. To me, thatâs the biggest question.
