Sexless members of Senior Forum

Only if they have filled it in.
I suppose most people fill in the basics like gender. I ad mit I left blank all the questions about TV shows etc

On other forums I was occasionally mistaken to be male and I have mistaken other posters gender sometimes.

Doesn't strike me as a big deal - just politely correct/ be corrected.

See me i have no problem 'ignoring', or 'blocking' anyone who becomes obnoxious. I usually put them on mental ignore first: Not responding to their threads or comments. But if they get pushy with me i use the digital boundaries.

While i try not to give unwanted TMI, i'm basically an open book. If i respond to a thread or comment i'm honest. This is part of why my avatar is my actual photo. I think it reveals my gender. I need to update it, tho. Cause i have more wrinkles and grey hair.

i don't use sexy avatars. Just female ones. But I have it set so people can't see any info or message me. It's easier that way. I'm not afraid to use digital boundaries. :)

I've always been a curious about that. Why would someone not share their state or country of residence. The best answers I've come up with are either basic laziness or extreme paranoia. Neither is very flattering.

When such a person posts "Around here . . . " or "Where I live . . . " they are basically saying nothing at all. :rolleyes:
 
The thing that I find most interesting about this thread is the assumption that people will give truthful answers about who they are, what they are, where they are, etc… if such information becomes mandatory.

I’m not sure what this says about us but it’s definitely something that the average scammer understands and knows how to capitalize on.

I thought you were female until just now. (I love baseball and am female...) Didn't know what a Paladin was until I just looked it up based on your post. Never knew it meant anything - just figured it was a bastardization of your name, hometown, or similar.

They always seem gender neutral to me unless in stereotype of pink or blue colours or obviously dressed in stereotype male or female clothing - say, a tutu or a shirt/bow tie

But that just goes t o show things we think are telling others our gender are not neccesarily doing so - eg I wrongly thought Rakaia was female because the name sounded to me like the girls name Kaia.
He thought his motor bike avatar said male. 🤷‍♀️

I have a flower avatar which to me says female - but perhaps others find flowers gender neutral 🤷‍♀️ (which they are really, of course)

If someone is that sensitive, then maybe they should name their sex. Some people want you to guess so if you guess wrong, they can be offended.
