Well, that answers the first question that popped into my mind - Did she make up "Sleepy Hollow" or is that a real place!I'm Abigail or Abbi. I am very grateful to have joined this community and I hope I can not only contribute to it, but also meet other Seniors along the way.
A little about myself is I am currently 59 years old and will be turning 60 later on this year. I am a Registered Dietitian at the local hospital and enjoy my work. I just celebrated my 29th wedding anniversary with my husband Richard and yes I did get married young while I was studying in college. Those early years were tough, but we made it through and eventually came along with our daughter who is now 26 years old and is now just starting her Residency at a hospital in NYC. I must have done something right raising her because she has turned out to be one special girl. My husband works at the same hospital I am employed at in the Pharmacy. We also have a 12 year old West Highland Terrier dog named Buddy.
Other than working, I enjoy gardening, picking strawberries, sewing, and taking walks.
A fun about about me is I live in the town of Sleepy Hollow, NY which is the town that the story about Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman.
The town was originally known as North Tarrytown. Sleepy Hollow is a part of Westchester County.Well, that answers the first question that popped into my mind - Did she make up "Sleepy Hollow" or is that a real place!

Most of the time it is around Halloween, but when the movie Sleepy Hollow came out in 1999 with Johnny Depp, Christina Ricci, and Christopher Walken they had parades and stuff like that around the release date. It was a big deal. The funny thing is supposedly the town of Sleepy Hollow is to be one of the most haunted towns in the world, but it is also one of the safest small towns in America. So the ghosts must be keeping the town safe.Welcome to you, Abbi, and thank you for your friendly and interesting and informative introduction!
I wonder how often does the headless horseman gallop through your town?Just once yearly, or more frequently?
Have you gotten any video's of that?![]()
It was fun; not as good, I agree, but fun. Bad Luck Schleprock was a good character. I actually said, "Wowsy, Wowsy, Woo Woo," the other day. Geeze, I'm getting fracking old. LOLYes I do. Not as good as the original Flintstones but I still watched it.
Oh My, Schleprock is bringing back old memories. Quite funny that character was. "Wowsy, Wowsy, Woo, Woo, ", I should start using that.It was fun; not as good, I agree, but fun. The funny thing was that I didn't use it as the character would (as a portent of doom), but it just sort of came out as a response to a chess move my son made. I said, "Wow. Wow.... Wowsy, Wowsy, Woo, Woo." No clue why, cept general weirdness that comes with getting old.Oh My, Schleprock is bringing back old memories. Quite funny that character was.
