Abortion is an important topic. I don't know what Hillary said, but I'm not surprised she would attack Sanders in any way she could, if she has to lie or take things out of context, I'm sure it won't be the first time for her and not the last, that's who she is. I agree, shame on her or her people, whoever is trying to discredit Sanders.

Here he is talking about it with Rachael Maddow, and all I see is a man who is for women's rights, pro-choice, and just voicing his opinions on rather than the media running with every stupid thing Trump says and spending 24/7 keeping him in the headlines, that the concentrations should be on serious issues. He never insinuated that women's abortion rights were not a serious issue, that's ridiculous IMO.

I love Mr. Bernie Sanders .... I hope he will do well - fingers cross. :)

I hope he does well too, much better character to have as President of the United States, we have enough corrupt politicians like Clinton in government.

But I'm afraid the cards were stacked against him the whole time. Not only is Clinton bought and paid for by the big money interests, but even the media has been shamelessly shilling for Hillary.

Chris Matthews, same one who interviewed Trump so aggressively on the hypothetical abortion question, has used the MSNBC news media platform to boost Hillary and bash Bernie, instead of just being a fair reporter of the news, which is his job.

Of course there's personal benefits in it for him and his wife who's using Hillary supporters to buy her way into a political position in Maryland. One reason not to trust half of the garbage they spew on the main stream media TV channels. They have an agenda, and it's always self-serving. To heck with the public and reporting the actual news facts. and conducting impartial interviews.

"MSNBC’s Chris Matthews has been accused by Bernie Sanders supporters of being blatantly one-sided in favor of Hillary and against Bernie Sanders, to the point that thousands of progressives have signed a petition calling for MSNBC to suspend the host of “Hardball” “because of his constant shilling for Hillary Clinton.”

The magazine Esquire sharply criticized Matthews’ recent interview with Clinton as “ahistorical and out of bounds” for his attacks on Sanders.

Now, research by The Daily Caller reveals that Hillary’s biggest donors are backing Matthews’ wife — Kathleen Matthews — in her congressional race in Maryland, even though many of them don’t even live in the same state, much less the same district, that Matthews is seeking to represent.

Kathleen Matthews, who worked closely with the Clinton Foundation for four years during her time at Marriott (which she just recently left to enter the congressional race), has blown away her primary opponents in terms of fundraising.

By the end of 2015, Matthews had raised $1,569,092, FEC records show. Only one of her eight primary opponents — state Sen. Jamie Raskin — had raised more than $1 million by year’s end.

Many of Matthews’ biggest donors have close ties to either the Clinton foundation or the Clintons themselves.

As noted by Bloomberg two years ago, 12 families have donated to every single Clinton campaign and charity. Of the 12 families, the two families that have donated the most to the Clintons are both funding Matthews’ campaign.

Four families from Bloomberg’s list of biggest Clinton donors have given to the Matthews’ campaign. None of the four live in Maryland, where Matthews is actually running.

Elaine and Gerald Schuster together have given to every Clinton campaign or charity cause ever. Of the 12 families that have funded every Clinton venture ever, the Schusters’ rank second in amount of money given to the Clintons.

This past May, the Washington Free Beacon reported that the two hosted a fundraiser for Hillary at their home. Elaine — who previously served on the board of the Clinton Foundation–has donated the maximum legal amount to Matthews’ campaign, FEC records show. Elaine’s granddaughter, Alexandra, works as a digital strategist for Hillary’s presidential campaign and made a donation to Matthews’ campaign in early November. Neither Elaine nor Alexandra Schuster live in Maryland.

Only one family on Bloomberg’s list has given more to the Clintons than the Schuster family: the Bagley family, headed by Elizabeth and the late Smith Bagley. According to Bloomberg, the Bagleys have given more than $5 million to the Clintons over the years. Two of the Bagley children — Conor and Vaughan — each donated $500 to Matthews’ campaign. Conor Bagley’s donation is especially remarkable considering his listed occupation on Matthews’ FEC filings is “student.” Like the Schusters, neither Bagley lives in Maryland.

Another family from the Bloomberg 12 to have donated to Matthews is the Barnes family, headed by Benjamin and Melanie. Benjamin is the former lieutenant governor of Texas and served on the National Finance Council for Clinton’s Ready for Hillary PAC. He has given the maximum legal amount to Matthews’ campaign. Barnes does not live in Maryland.

Yet another family from the Bloomberg list backing Matthews is the Williams family, headed by Constance and Sankey Williams.

Like Benjamin Barnes, Constance served on the National Finance Council for Ready for Hillary. To date, she’s given $2,000 to Matthews’ campaign — a little over half the legal maximum.

Like the other Hillary mega-donors backing Matthews, Constance Williams is not a Maryland resident.

Other Hillary mega-donors support Matthews as well. California philanthropist Laure Woods, who cut a “six-figure” check to a Hillary super PAC according to Politico, donated the maximum legal amount to Matthews’ campaign late last December.

Several others of Matthews’ biggest donations have come from out-of-state Clinton donors.

Matthews’ Clinton ties go beyond the donors funding both her and Hillary.

According to Marriott’s website, Kathleen Matthews “led a four-year initiative with the Clinton Foundation to open a Marriott hotel in Haiti.” The Clintons and Marriott have both come under scrutiny over the project after FOIA requests revealed that a Clinton Foundation donor was lobbying the State department in favor of the hotel while Hillary was still serving as secretary of state."

Warri, haven't found a video of it yet. I'll keep looking. Here is a synopsis of what went down.

By the way consider the source for all those statements:

The Daily Caller is a politically conservative news and opinion website based in Washington, D.C. It was founded by Tucker Carlson, a libertarian political pundit, and Neil Patel, former adviser to former Vice President Dick Cheney. Notable staff and columnists include Ann Coulter <----That says it all, imo.

Like most Democrats, I'd be just fine with either Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton as president. I still think once the Republicans begin opposition research on the Democratic nominee, Bernie would be in trouble. What you have to convince are the people in the middle. Start talking Socialism and most average voters would run. However, this may be the *only* election when someone like Sanders could actually win, because the Republicans are in such chaos.:) But it's not worth the gamble, imo.

I've found something here : http://edition.cnn.com/2016/03/31/politics/donald-trump-abortion-hillary-clinton-bernie-sanders/

I think both Hilary and Bernie are making valid points.

Purchase, New York (CNN)Hillary Clinton hit Bernie Sanders on Thursday for suggesting her repeated condemnations of Donald Trump's comments on abortion were a distraction from "a serious discussion about the serious issues." Clinton, speaking at State University of New York at Purchase, said she knows the Vermont senator "supports a woman's right to choose." But she also questioned his approach to the controversy.

"I want you to hear this because last night, Senator Sanders agreed that Donald Trump's comments were shameful, but then he said they were a distraction from, and I quote, 'A serious discussion about the serious issues facing America,'" Clinton said to boos from the crowd. "To me, this is a serious issue and it is a very serious discussion. I know Senator Sanders supports a woman's right to choose and I also know that Planned Parenthood Action Fund and NARAL endorsed me because I led on this issue."

During an interview on Wednesday, Trump said there should be "some form of punishment" for women who get abortions if the procedure was outlawed. His campaign scrambled to clean up the statement later in the day, saying that women who obtain abortions are victims and that doctors who perform the service are the ones who should be punished.

Sanders, during his own interview on Wednesday night, was asked a series of questions about Trump's comments. After disavowing Trump's statements, Sanders then questioned why the mogul's comments were dominating the political conversation.

"Because media is what media is today, any stupid, absurd remark made by Donald Trump becomes the story of the week," Sanders told MSNBC. "Maybe, just maybe, we might want to have a serious discussion about the serious issues facing America." Sanders then went on to say that Trump's other positions -- on issues like climate change, the economy and wealth -- should also be talked about.

"If we don't discuss those issues, it creates the climate for people like Donald Trump to do much better than he really has a right to do," Sanders concluded.

Clinton on Thursday took issue with the idea that abortion does not rise to a comparable level of importance.

"This is a fundamental, constitutional right and we cannot think it is anything other but really serious," said the former secretary of state.

Michael Briggs, Sanders' spokesman, responded to Clinton on Thursday by turning fire back against Trump, sidestepping her claim.

"Donald Trump's statement about punishing women who have abortions is an outrage," Briggs said. "It is unbelievable that a candidate for president would make such an absurd statement. Sen. Sanders has a 100 percent lifetime voting record defending a woman's right to choose and will do all that he can to protect and expand that right if elected president."

The cards were stacked against Bernie Sanders by the DNC in the first place. I'd love to see him elected president, though.

It's amazing to me that candidates (Repubs) try to convince people that they can just make abortion illegal -- NOBODY can just up and overturn Roe v. Wade -- it's the law of the land, like it or not. What the Repubs CAN do, sadly, is make it more and more difficult for women, especially poorer women, to actually get an abortion, and more and more difficult for abortion providers to stay in practice.

New Mexico is seeing an increase in women traveling in from other states because some of our neighboring states (Texas, Utah, for example) have passed (probably unconstitutional) laws making it more difficult for women. Even though those laws will probably ultimately be deemed unconstitutional, in the meantime many women are finding it difficult to get an abortion in their home states. And since needing an abortion is not something a woman can wait around for the courts to decide on, they are coming here to get them. And women who cannot afford to travel are being forced by circumstances to bear children they cannot afford or cannot take care of.

This is what happens when the extreme right tries to control women's lives.
