No, this thread is not about automotive concerns, but the expression inspired by “Family Guy” is regarding things that you see or experience that you find irritate you.

I’ll start it off. What really grinds my gears are people who still have outdoor Xmas decorations on their lawn when it’s almost Valentine’s Day! What really grinds your gears? 😾

Dishonest greedy people and corporations and lawyers. Seems every week now i read about another lawyer involved in theft. The prices they charge itself is criminal yet they resort to theft accept the consequences because a fine and apology is worth it for the reward.

Contractors who want ALL their money upfront...and apparently get it.

Along the same lines, having to PAY for an estimate. They say it will be applied to your job, but what if I don't like your estimate?!
I would never do that. Way too many horror storys of shady contractors. Sometimes they are good and suddenly go rogue and once they have your money all you can do is hope the courts can recover.
We asked for quotes for a new asphalt shingle roof a few years back and one guy wznted a huge deposit and said he couldn't even start the job for 6 months. Ya right.

My gripe too-Litter - but never see much of it- if someone throws a pop can or some sort of trash on my hill, if it is on my side of the road , going down these curvy narrow hill roads, I pick it up and discord it, or wash the pop can and put it into my pop cans recycle bin.
But usually by time I get back up the hill, whatever it is, is gone.

And even the main highway seems to be always pristine.

We have had an Adopt a Highway program for years, where volunteers handle any litter , in different sections of the main closest highway. I guess the program still works because I never see any highway litter when I go to the largest village near me, where I shop for food.

What really gets me angry, are distracted drivers who are always in a hurry
I can't tell you how many times I've almost been hit as I cross an intersection when I have the right of way. It happened a couple days ago, I was walking across the street,in corner of my eye could see a driver obviously wanted me to walk more quickly. I turned around and stopped & scream at the S.O.B. He was so startled, when I was out of the way, he took off like a bat out of hell. Sometimes I wonder how these morons passed their drivers tests
