What type shoes do you wear inside your home?

I take my shoes off when I come in the door. I usually wear slippers or in warmer weather canvas slip-ons. In cold weather I sometimes wear socks and slippers. I'm not a fan of flip-flops, but in hot weather I sometimes wear them inside (never outside) or go barefoot.

I never go up/down stairs in flip-flops, and when I was driving I NEVER drove while wearing them. Too easy to get caught in pedals - dangerous. Also, some people have ugly feet but they still like to show them off in flip-flops.

Remember TV moms in the 1950s? June Cleaver, etc. wore hose and high heels all the time. :laugh:
 
Well after all, she had to carry out the theme of her pearls and her perfect makeup!

I wear slippers, or sometimes just socks.
 
Socks in winter or barefoot in summer. I do slip into flip flops that I keep in my garage to go outside in the yard and pick up after the dog.....or if I've had the sprinkler on and the grass is wet. But I don't like wearing them, there's a small slope in my yard and my foot will turn sideways in those things, never felt secure enough to wear them in public (except at the beach), or drive in them.

Outdoors I like to wear sneakers, or hiking boots/shoes in winter. I don't have slippers.
 
I usually wear slippers but lately I noticed when I'm working around the house all day my knees begin to ache so I bought a pair of good sneakers for the days I'm on my feet more. This seems to help so I'll save them just for indoor use.
 
In the house it is bare feet outside it is a pair of old leather boat shoes.

My PCP has been working on me to stop going barefoot at home because of my diabetes but it is very hard to teach an old dog new tricks.
 
Barefoot in the house and slippers (what you'll call flip flops) in the yard.

You see slippers (again, flip flops) worn everywhere here in the islands--shopping, going for walks, on the beach, etc.)

Personally, I wear walking shoes for causal outings.
 
I wear flip flops. I found the most comfortable pair ever with plenty of arch support.

I am barefoot. If my feet are cold I wear those grippy hospital socks. My shoes are also the first thing off coming thru the door. Pants are the second, can't stand pants. I will put on shorts if company is coming.
 
I wear sneakers and socks in the winter. I go in and out a lot and like to keep my shoes on and my feet warm. In the summer I wear flip flops or sandals. I have a pair just like ProsperosDaughter has except mine are dark blue. They are extremely comfortable. I also have a pair of Reebok flip flops that are very comfortable.
 
Sometimes I'll only wear slippers when I get up in the morning as a joke. It drives my wife crazy...."what if someone rang the door"

Yep wives are a trip! Very often in the summer I will take my shower, grab a coffee and the paper and go out on the deck and "air dry". She has a fit,fricken hilarious. For anyone to see anything they would have to be trespassing in my woods on either side or my back field that is in crop. I will also unabashedly "mark my territory" while out doing maintenance.

I'm just a natchal kind o man

I wear socks&sneakers during winter,after dinner its slippers. In summer I wear sandals and my walking sneakers.
Falcon,the only time I wore 'flip flops' when I was a young child.I never liked wearing them when I got older,worst shoes ever invented,not good for your feet. Sue
