Should i use this method from now on?

Seems easy enough especially when the roach is to dumb to scurry away. Might be a little more difficult when you surprise one or more at night when you turn on the lights. Had a really bad experience with multiple roaches in a motel one time when we went to Disney in Florida. Kids were in the next room screaming. Seems turning on the light to go to the bathroom showed just how many of those creepy roaches were in their room. Not used to seeing roaches they didn't want to stay there. We notified the motel office of leaving & why. We did get our money refunded.

Growing up in Florida, before much insecticide use, we just lived with roaches all the time. Used to have to wait for the floor to clear after turning on light in a dark room.

I suppose it is worth the trade off, but realize any roach free room in Florida is heavily insecticide treated...

When I lived on Guam we had the palmettos as well as geckos. My mother woke me up her first morning there screaming because there was a lizard on the ceiling above her bed.:giggle:

Way back when, I was on vacation with some friends in Daytona Beach. One night, we were strolling down a little boardwalk, and I wanted to call my mom. We came across a phone booth. I stepped in and closed the door. When the light came on, I saw that the whole phone booth, floor to ceiling, was crawling with palmettos! Talk about being creeped out! I moved out of there so fast, I could've left The Flash in the dust! I mean, I can handle a few bugs, but Jezus! It still gives me the heebie-jeebies thinking about it. 36

I've told this story before, but when I was in college growing up in Tampa I "babysat" my next door neighbors' Great Dane. They kept his food in a large trash can in the garage. One night, I opened the lid to scoop his food and what seemed like hundreds of Palmetto Bugs flew out. We have roaches here in Texas, but not the type they have in Florida. They don't fly!

As for the tissue method, I'm not that precise. I keep a can of raid in the bathroom and if I see a roach I spray it immediately.
