I loved the snows when I lived in NC! Some were wet and heavy. Others were dry, light and crystal powder that would blow up from the drifts like sparkles in the sun when there was a puff of breeze.

Oh no it is not! We moved up to Ireland over a year ago, so that picture is looking to the north east of us toward the Irish Sea.

I walked on the ice on the lake behind my flat. In the paper they said you can't go on the ice yet, but I thought I'd look if it was possible. Some had gone on it, there were footsteps, but hmmm. Then an English speaking Indian guy came and he just stepped on it and then I thought: if he dares to do it I do too. His wife walked on it too later. For the rest there was nobody. It didn't crack. It's only 1 meter deep so you only get cold if you go through the ice, but you can just walk there.
