Show your winter photos from your home or area

No more of this for me. 😔 This snowfall was a view from my apartment, where I lived in southern TN for the last 2 yrs. In November, I moved away from snow, back to the south southeast, 17 miles from the coast. If I want snow now, I'll have to take a trip.

I would miss snow....in fact when we lived in Spain there was no snow at all ......until one year , there was a big pile of it for days on end and it was so rare people were literally coming in coachloads from Madrid to see snow in our area for the first time...

And usually when that happens you see little, sickly snowmen everywhere. People are so excited that they want to build them right away but they aren't used to doing it. They don't have experience. But it's all in fun though. I say good for them! ❄️☃️❄️

This is gorgeous beyond words! 🥰

Used my Google Pixel 10 PRO for the first time Tuesday, 1/7/2026. The below at 2:32pm from Caples Crest Ridge at Kirkwood Ski Resort, shows within nearby Mokelumne Wilderness, that I also summer backpack in, at frame left at a distance of 2.75 miles, 10381 foot elevation volcanic geology, Round Top and at frame center 10153 foot The Sisters. Here is what this looks like on a topographic map:

I have exiftool freely installed on all my computers in order to read any image file header information. Highly recommended for any photography enthusiasts. From a Windows Command Prompt ran:

exiftool AA232531908.jpg, that shows on one output line: Lens Model: Pixel 10 Pro back camera 17.906mm f/2.8

That ~5x lens is only on the PRO version, key to my purchasing this smartphone because lack of even a medium telephoto optical lens position has been a huge past reason for not using these machines. The below is a 3300 by 2000 pixel post processed Pixel image downsized to 65% in order to reach IMO, a reasonable level of detail sharpness compared to quality large format digital imagery. The native output of the Pixel 10 PRO is 4080 by 3072. A 4k UHD computer display is 3840 by 2160 pixels. Thus, the below image, almost fills a 4k display with a sharp image that is a valuable threshold image size level for public exhibitions. So, establishes for my use a tool with a serious output.

Nice pics, @hollydolly! Those weren't taken with your phone, were they? The quality looks too good.
thank you very much....they really were taken with my iphone..I promise you. There are very occasional times when I'll take a photo with the camera, but it's rare these days....

My favourite photos that no-one believes I took with my phone were photos from a plane....just to go off topic for a minute...
