Sir Richard Branson wins the billionaire space race:

I admire him one because he knows no limits to a challenge and second he threw a glass of water in Mark Cuban's face in an episode of Shark Tank.

How come I've heard of him for years? He was always doing daredevil stuff, risking his life with stunts; governments had to pay to rescue him and he never paid back---not that he legally had to. He's okay as billionaires go. At least he likes rock n roll.
Me too, always in the news with his stunts and rescues. I just took him for a rich nut that liked rock n roll like me.

Not sure why they are calling it a "race" when they {Branson & Bezos} are actually going different places / have different goals.

One {Branson} is a plane, touching space. The other {Bezos} is going on a rocket, "into" space.

Two different endevors , IMO.

That's the way I see it as well........a high altitude 'flight'.

I think our spy plane pilots do that regularly ?
I think they said they were weightless for 4 minutes. Did the Blackbirds or U-2 pilots go high enough to be weightless. Granted it was the edge of space but still space.

There is no definition of where space starts so 50 miles high is the accepted distance. He went further and so is technically an astronaut and all you nay-sayers are astronuts.

Well, somebody has to say it: Don't these billionaires have anything better to do with that amount of money?
Acts like these progress the entire human race, eventually. The Rich backed the explorers from Europe, for example, which enriched them further, but they dragged us serfs along the way.

Yes they do,see link.

And the Blackbird fly's even higher, again, see link.

Did N.A.S.A. announce him as an astronaut ? If not, he is not , IMO
There might be weightlessness at 100K ft which is the alleged Blackbird maximum height capability but they say Branson's flight reached 53.4 miles or 282,000 ft

He's quite the promoter of businesses associated with his name. I think the last i read of him he promoted companies under his branding, sold them for a good profit and moved the income to the BVI where he lives i suspect in modest 2 bedroom condo ! Ha. I saw a few weeks ago a petition going around the internet to keep Jeff Bezos in space if he takes the trip

he lives i suspect in modest 2 bedroom condo !
