Six more weeks of winter?

Heloise is just finishing up a round of medication which leaves her feeling somewhat distressed. At breakfast this morning she happily remarked,
" the pentultimate pill". Naturally, I asked if it saw its shadow. "Apparently so", she replied.

We have only had about 3 weeks of winter so far. Does that imply, along with the groundhog’s prediction, that we will only get three more weeks? Or will spring come even earlier? Only 9” of ice on the lake ice fishing yesterday (as opposed to the normal 20+ inches).

More likely, I am afraid, could be some spring surprise weather like a few big snowfalls in March and/or April. Hope not, as these weather events are a bit depressing.
