Are you sure you're not the v supportive lady I'm looking for right now, and for at least last five years or so?

You are a bit sharp, I can see that, so this could certainly become an issue, but I could take a chance on that score perhaps, (cors you cud be darn married like old "Holly-whats-her-name", and I only found that out after I'd given a forum equivalent of a "wolf whistle" to the lady :) ).

Right back to lawyers talk that's got you all rivited!!!

Asked a woman, a very nice young woman, who assists at a local firm of lawyers in the North West of England if she could get a lawyer there to try to get a simple question answered FOC?

The question being, "Can they act at short notice, and if its too short a notice then is there anything to be done to extend the deadline"?, (I know there may be already, because an ex lawyer friend of mine has told me so, but I'd like them to lay it out as to what " might" happen under differing circumstances).

Not into that they say, so I'm supposed to instruct and pay them whilst they're telling me they can't act in the limited time available anyway!

All gone awry with this firm of lawyers, "so on to the next", (well maybe, if I'm guaranteed a different outcome in some way?).

I'm offered another chance to proceed down their "complaints procedure", but my response to that offer will be, "only should a legal trained professional advise me to do so", and even then I'd hope they would do the heavy lifting or form filling exercises, etc., that I'm sure will be involved, taking aeons to resolve, in a " jobs for the boys" process!).
 
My last word on this thread, (honest, unless of course,......, someone asks a question, when it would be rude not to answer hey?), is this:

I'm going to send one last message to the experienced lawyer I blubber in front of, pointing out how close we came to a potentially positive outcome following the meeting when I broke down, and telling her my feelings about the treatment I've received over this outstanding invoice I object to paying for all the reasons I've mentioned.

Then finally I'll be mentioning the behaviour of her younger member of staff, and how she could clarify to the chief executive at the lawyers firm, the position over a statement made where I was wrongly made responsible for an error, or deliberate act they had done, (against my interests and instructions), and copying this last message to the chief executive, pointing out the frustration all should be feeling as human beings, so much effort could be put into something, with nothing positive to show for it! :)

Well my new "last post" is this, I am going to inform my lawyers about this anonymised thread, and the criticisms contained within it, (most of which still stand I believe!). :)

That doesn't sound like a good idea. Although you have not named the solicitors, you have disclosed quite a bit of information and there seems nothing to be gained by giving your solicitors access to what you have posted online.

What is to be gained, is establishing the differing time lines, for example when I listed the following behaviour, (and had a copy to handover, with me at my first/only meeting with the experienced lawyer, deciding to withhold it because I felt it best to try to make the best of a bad job, but in the end it availed me nothing by trying my very hardest to be as reasonable as |I possibly could be).

One of my previous solicitors told me that, should matters go to court, the judge will have access to all kinds of sources of information, (including your text messages off your mobile phone), so maybe I'm being foolish, doing as I intend, (only half intend though as I may just assert I can prove when I produced the said document, repeated below, from a post about five or six weeks ago on another thread).

"The charge sheet"!

In the past six months the following has happened:
1). Failure to follow simple instructions as to what was required by the client.
2). Condemnation of the work of a experienced former lawyer, now judge, on behalf of the client, by the youngest lawyer in your practise.
3), Criticism of every aspect of three reports produced by a medical expert and trained lawyer instructed by the client directly.
4).Obtaining a copy of some work carried out by a former lawyer of the client behind his back when told would be shared with you by him.
5). Not revealing you had obtained this document until forced to do so, nor who you obtained it from, nor when it was obtained.
6). As a result of obtaining this document, and way it was obtained, possibly having unauthorised call to former lawyer, raised suspicions
7). Including this document in your instructions when specifically told not to, adding to costs, and confusion, showing lack of trust in client.
8). Undermining the trust of other professionals in the word of the client.
9). Trying to defend above actions, thus adding to costs, and causing unnecessary stress to client, and delaying the real issues to deal with.
10). Trying to assert all the above is the responsibility of the client when it comes to the payment of the latest invoice for work you say is carried out in his interests.
 
Bit of a chance of progress, (though I've another week to wait to meet yet another firm of lawyers, and be charged for the privilege of course).

The thought has crossed my mind to ask my first lawyer, from a few years ago, (who moved on to do purely criminal work, and remains a social media friend and great source of support), to speak to the new guy, and explain to him as bluntly as he put it when describing what was now necessary a couple of days ago when we last spoke, what is being asked of the new firm, and no messing about :rolleyes:!
