Snow then - snow now

The last time I saw my cardiologist for my annual visit, it snowed. Had to make a 30 mile round trip in a blizzard. Couldn't cancel since he had already scheduled tests. This year I moved my appointment up a month figuring I wouldn't have to deal with snow. Guess what? Snow tonight - 1 to 3 inches. Can't win!

This past Sunday, we got almost a foot of snow. Problem was, we also had freezing morning temps, so, under the snow was ice. On Monday morning, a person could ice skate down the drive in front of our apartment.

Then again, winter/snow/ice is just a part of living in northern Colorado.

used to ski... never "competitively"... for the scenery!! now enjoy the snow vicariously. chance for some accumulating stuff in Poconos (about 2 hours north in PA). last year a few ski areas actually opened for Thanksgiving weekend... usually they're lucky if they can make enough to open mid-December. if stuff on ground looks remotely dangerous... i'm not venturing out.

Well ... as inconvenient as snow can be, I'm thinking it's better to be where it's snowing than where there are rampant wildfires.

snow and ice: if not them, then
hurricanes and tidal waves, if not them, then
wildfires and tornadoes
if not these, then mother-in-laws
