So Called "Affluenza" Teen Drunk Driver Murderer On The Run

The teen who killed 4 while driving drunk and claimed he suffered from "affluenza" coming from a rich family which perpetuated his drinking has missed scheduled check ins on his 10 year probation sentence. His mom can't be found either. And was video taped at a party which included alcohol.

There are issues here but unfortunately personal responsibility is not one of them.
 

I recall mentioning this family in a thread some time ago, sickened me then sickens me now, believe it appeared on one of the hour long shows like 20/20 and again last night on Nightline. You had to see the whole story to really see what these parents are like to get just how warped these people, the lawyers and medical persons who came up with the term are. Four dead and the kid walks with probation, now he's likely relaxing on some beach in a faraway country not to be found any time soon, but, I'm betting as in other cases he will be found, what sentence he will face will still be a joke though.
 
I can't believe that the parents of the children that were killed didn't appeal the sentencing to the state's AG. Something is really wrong here. This is a prime example of what I wrote about some time back when I went on record here stating about unfair sentencing practices in the courts and please believe me and what I am telling all of you, I have seen many instances of this time after time.

I could state some examples that would make your blood boil, but what would be the point?

2013, I remember this hitting the talking head circuit on tv and radio. 2 years later and apparently the family doesn't get it either. He needs to be featured on Johh Walsh's The Hunt. And yes Nancy Grace.

But one thing I've noticed I wouldn't apply "affluenza" just to the rich but to anyone with this kind of SENSE OF ENTITLEMENT. I've seen it. Some have a lifestyle addiction and others simply cannot picture themselves in a negative light period. And again the mom/family did not help but it was his choice to underage drink & drive. And not bother with probation- darn those pesky rules & conditions that keep me out of jail.

This is one case, where I do blame the parents, they raised this kid to be exactly what he is, put him up in his own drug, fest party house before he was legal age, the kid is still underage, but, of course, I agree he should be held responsible for his acts, but, in my opinion, so should these parents in this case it is deplorable what they taught and how they finances this kid's behaviors. They encouraged him and still do.

The parents helped perpetuate this kid's behavior but does it really take the parents to make a kid realize one should not drink & drive. Most kids have a rough idea of what the law is or right from wrong especially on the "big" stuff. And unlike many on this board in this day and age I can't believe this kid wouldn't have been exposed to some anti drug & alcohol classes or lectures which have been the norm in many companies and organizations for decades at this point. I remember being told drugs and alcohol bad, end of story. One would think in this day and age that not only are kids being told drugs and alcohol bad but there is alot more information that should be accompanying those lectures. Throw in all the pop culture celebrities who been in the news for similar stuff they should've learned from that.

Did I not say the kid wasn't responsible, but even so, doesn't negate what the parents responsibility in this case. What I saw in the full reporting of this story, these parents are very much part of the problem as much as this kid is oblivious to the fact that he believes he is entitled to do live life any way he see fits as taught to him by way of his parents. Regardless of what one sees in the news or in the case of what one sees in the news case in point, most of those rich folks tend to get a slap on the wrist, so yes if he's going by what he sees in the news more often than not, it's a game and his parents will always be able to buy him out of jail because money talks, that's what the headlines teach.

I should've worded it different but I was trying to make the point that this kid, any kid should be able to pick up enough right-wrong, legall-illegal on their own to get by or stay out of catastrophic trouble. Must admit money does buy fancy lawyers and excuses/defenses.

This horrid event seems like nothing but an intrusion into "their world" or his "life'.

The speculation is he skipped the check in because if he was tested or questioned for alcohol(video) he might have failed and been sent to jail. Now if he realizes there are penalties for cheating on the terms of his probation he knows 'something'. Not enough but 'something'. I wonder if mom took him to a rehab and that's what she'll tell a judge they had to get him an emergency admission to rehab to get in front of his probation violations.

We see it all the time here. It has caused such outrage that our legislature (such as it is) is meeting with judges and seriously considering rewriting some of our more goofy laws, like the one passed a couple years ago about "affordable" bail even in capital cases. This affordable bail thing allowed TWO persons to be let back out on the streets who within a very short time killed TWO more people. Not to mention several multiple DWI offenders who were released and caused additional auto crashes while drunk -- one of them fatal.
 
Momma and her baby are long gone... You can bet they are no longer in the country and surely have set up residence somewhere with no extradition policy.
 
Hopefully, this trip to Mexico may result in bringing consequences much more in line with the crimes he committed. If this parole violation is seen in an adult court, yes, he could only get 120 days of jail time. However, the terms of the parole would be significantly more stringent than the current parole from juvenile court. If he violated a parole from the adult court he could face up to 40 years in prison. And, this kid will be hard pressed to not violate the conditions of any parole. He's been raised as if he is better than others in the human race and needn't abide by "our" rules and laws.

Or... just confine both mother and son to a Mexican prison and tell them we might "allow them" to extradite after 10 years in one of those hell-holes.
 
Won't pay his bills

This pos teen drunk driver/killer apparently wasn't given rules to live by because he apparently thinks it's ok to run up a bill and not pay someone. The pos ran up a tab at a strip club in Mexico and was followed or taken home to the hotel so mommy could pay his strip club bill. I think the kid would've learned a valuable lesson if the bouncers had beat the crap out of him, was forced to work it off or the police called and he was charged with theft of services.
