Luckily I don't use facebook, twitter, instagram, etc.

I do use Facebook for family communications but keep the privacy levels high.
That doesn't stop my grand children from tagging me in photos that they post.
It doesn't worry me any more than having my details on a myriad of forms I am required to fill in from time to time.

It's a darn side more private than this forum, everything you write people can read, same as on Twitter it's all there.

But ... but ... couldn't you just NOT write something?

There's an old saying that a secret that is known by more than one is no longer a secret. That's why some of the otherwise greatest robberies were solved - because the one guy that did it had to brag to someone.

If I want something private - my Pinocchio underwear, for example - I just won't mention anything about it.

(Size: Large) :playful:

ETA: "I'll call the police if you do that again" - yeah, right, dim-bulb - YOU put the info in a public space!

My interest in technology is rapidly declining and I'll soon be living in a cave . . .
Man I swear you are my long lost brother.

I've been saying that for years now, give me a nice cave and I could be very happy.

We live very low tech at our place, no cell phones, no microwave, we do have basic cable TV. And obviously we have a computer, but I never do any business on-line. I don't do FB, have no idea what tweeting and whatever the hell else people do on-line is all about.

When civilization completely collaspes (which could be any day now) it won't matter much to me.

I joined Facebook and if there is a stronger word than despise, that's how I felt about it. It took me 3 months and a personal letter request to get out of it, with them ignoring every "unsubscribe" I sent...at least 50 of 'em. If I have anything to say to someone I personally know and communicate with, I'll e-mail or call you. I hate the concept of it. I keep up with my high school friends and everyone else I want to keep up with, so no need for it whatsoever. I'm reading there are many disenchanted FB users & numbers growing every day. Do people our age Twitter and Tweet? Hard for me to grasp wanting to, but different strokes for different folks.

Yes, I agreed Jilly .. everything is out there .... here on this senior forum, there and every place you put things on the Internet. None of it is 'private'.

Sorry for your Facebook troubles Katybug. .. I hear more and more people complain about the site. I never joined because it looked like too much drama.
Twitter is a "news feed" to me. .. I don't tweet or have a profile set up on the site, :p ... I just gather information from it as it rolls in. I see a lot of interesting things I wouldn't see otherwise.

I'm a Twitter 'lurker' sometimes too. Never joined it nor want to but it's an interesting source of watching 'trends' in what is loosely termed thinking, and seeing how shallow someone you thought more worthy really is.

Never bother with Facebook, not only don't give a toss what the only relative on it is doing but would probably be the most friendless person on it anyway so not much point.

I could live in a cave, but I'd miss my forums; daily tweeting; facebook; instagram; reddit; caturday; then, if I've time, breaking news and weather.

J/K...I'm on facebook occasionally, but keep it as private as possible. Don't care for the rest of it.

Sorry, not an actual photo of me. Just another brother from back in the day . . . It's still an honor to be considered your long lost bro, tho.
Hey Bro! you are my brother from another mother, consider it so.

Oh that's all right about the picture, I was going to find a picture of some hot hippie chick at Woodstock and try to pass her off as my young self.
