Sometimes I amaze even myself

Beautiful car. I've always wanted a red car. Don't care the make or model. Just red.
Red can look even better when you two tone it with cream.

The late fifties spawned many a car with fins. The 59 Caddy being the ultimate.
I much prefer the clean lines of The Bel Air. You have a real beauty there S/D.
But I wouldn't trade Jessica. After all MG could stand for My Girlfriend.

That’s a sweet looking ‘57. As a matter of preference, I would have to swap out the wheels. I prefer the slotted chrome wheels with a high luster finish. (Personal preference) How are you planning to raise the rear end?

To be consistent with the period, shouldn't the rear end be lowered with bubble skirts? At least that was the trend in my day where I grew up. How about flippers (Flashy hubcaps with fins on the front wheels)?
That was more the low rider/custom cars ala chopped 49 mercs etc. This is straight back to the 70's for the wife.
One of our's circa 1977 ish.

Funny you should mention that. Just finished putting in new rear springs and shackles, and tomorrow, it gets polished slotted mags. Picture will be coming.

There you go. The slotted chrome wheels will make a big difference for those of us that are a bit more particular. You did the right thing by replacing the springs. Did you go from 4-5 leafs? Replacing the springs is normally better than putting in a lift kit or air shocks.

Yep, went from 4 to 5 leafs. Still had to add to the shackles because we're shoving N-50's under there and I don't like to tub my cars. Gonna bleed the brakes one last time tomorrow then, we'll see how she runs down the road. Stopping is as important as going don't you know. ;) I think the front discs will be the ticket.
I've only got a 2 page list of little things to tinker with. :ROFLMAO:

Until I started looking, I had no idea how hard it was to find 15" slotted mags and a decent 15" tire for that matter. Most of our hot rods had slots. Just can't beat the look of them... I think anyway.

Yeehaw, Got in the time machine and went back to 1976. (better dust off those disco shoe's) :ROFLMAO::sick: Got the butt end up where the wife wanted it, and that meant the N-50 tire cleared. Maybe not everyone's taste, but, suits us just fine. Also found some 04-05 Cadillac power seats that fit nicely. (y) Still got some wiring to clean up, but, no sweat there.
Also swapped the wheels for polished slotted mags. All in all, it's coming together extremely well. :)
Flames are coming once the paint has hardened enough to tape.
