Red can look even better when you two tone it with cream.Beautiful car. I've always wanted a red car. Don't care the make or model. Just red.
That was more the low rider/custom cars ala chopped 49 mercs etc. This is straight back to the 70's for the wife.To be consistent with the period, shouldn't the rear end be lowered with bubble skirts? At least that was the trend in my day where I grew up. How about flippers (Flashy hubcaps with fins on the front wheels)?
Yep, spent the day today putting in new leaf springs and some shackle's to get her up there. Will take some pictures tomorrow.Yeah, a little
That'll do'er
'57 has been my favorite year for Chevy
and they did that style for only the one year...go figure
Nicely done, dawg.....nicely done
Funny you should mention that. Just finished putting in new rear springs and shackles, and tomorrow, it gets polished slotted mags. Picture will be coming. That’s a sweet looking ‘57. As a matter of preference, I would have to swap out the wheels. I prefer the slotted chrome wheels with a high luster finish. (Personal preference) How are you planning to raise the rear end?
As my father used to say, "she'll pass anything on the road, except a gas station".got the big block (454) running
There you go. The slotted chrome wheels will make a big difference for those of us that are a bit more particular. You did the right thing by replacing the springs. Did you go from 4-5 leafs? Replacing the springs is normally better than putting in a lift kit or air shocks.Funny you should mention that. Yep, went from 4 to 5 leafs. Still had to add to the shackles because we're shoving N-50's under there and I don't like to tub my cars. Gonna bleed the brakes one last time tomorrow then, we'll see how she runs down the road. Stopping is as important as going don't you know. There you go. Until I started looking, I had no idea how hard it was to find 15" slotted mags and a decent 15" tire for that matter. Most of our hot rods had slots. Just can't beat the look of them... I think anyway. There you go. The slotted chrome wheels will make a big difference for those of us that are a bit more particular.
This song has always been kinda our theme song. That 57 was during my prime teen years. A friend of mine had one that was fuel injected. A real chick magnet. The twist in this George Jones songs pretty much says what I'm thinking about your 57 chevy. .
