Sometimes My Fingers Don't Do What My Brain Tells Them To!

I have posted threads and replies and when I go back to them, I realize that something was spelled wrong (typo) or I may have even left out a word. And sometimes the letters are reversed as if I'd done some dyslexic typing; I usually notice that before I post though but... What the heck! I was thinking the right spelling and right words. Why didn't they get typed that way?! I swear, I'm glad I'm not looking for work as a typist now. šŸ¤“

Does this happened to you sometimes?

My challenge isn't typing these days. It's that I'm so quick to post a thought that I sometimes leave out words. Also, sometimes I forget how to spell complex words that I haven't typed in a while and have to look up the correct spelling in Google.
I know exactly what you mean Doug. I think that hasty posting plays a part in my issue as well. Google is great for helping with spelling for sure. I'll type the word in a document and let auto correct do it's thing.

Funny this should come up. I even went to bed last night, fell asleep, and was awakened by an uneasy feeling. Got up and got on here and found a bunch of typos and auto-correction errors in some posted text. Not sure I even fixed much of that, but it let me go back to sleep.

Doesn't happen due to anything by me. It's my keyboard that does that every now & then.

All the time. It's worse if I'm tired. Or my brain is asleep and my fingers are still typing gibberish. LOL!

Sometimes?!?!?!?! EVERY time.

I can't type fast enough to keep up with the words in my head. Everything I write requires one or two or three readings back, and sometimes I do that and sometimes not. I mean, I know how to spell, but I make mistakes in the rush of replying. I try not to judge people about such things.

:sneaky: Guilty as charged... I do that and sometimes it was a key sticking on my laptop that I hadn't caught. Other times it's realizing that what I said could be misunderstood, so I want to clarify. Know what happens before I can do that, though? Even if it's just a couple of minutes, sure as I'm sitting here, someone had already quoted the wrong version and there it will be online for eternity. 🫢

My entire life; I don't feel like I've ever had even the slightest control over any part of my body. A book I read a while back had this tense scene in it that really rang true to me: a guy is frantically trying to open a jammed-shut basement door--an asteroid is on the way--and the author wrote something like, "And then, of course, due to the constant struggle with inanimate objects that life seems to consist entirely of, I couldn't get that !@#$ door open." I thought that's me! (And I struggle with animate objects too.)

Yes it happens to me all the time.
At times someone ā€˜likes’ my post and I’ll go to see what I said and notice spelling or grammar mistakes so feel the urge to fix them.

Sometimes I go to a thread that I’ve forgotten. I’ve been to and click on ā€˜likes.’ Sometimes I’ notice that I’m not placing ā€˜likes’, I’m deleting them. I don’t know how many times I’ve done this but I have.

Me too quite often, because I type too fast.
I have slight carpel tunnel syndrome too.

I have a program that allows me to dictate my words, instead of typing them, but I have an accent and it is not used to that, and I am unwilling to take the time to get the program used to my accent.

It is a New Jersey accent but sometimes people think I have a Long Island accent.

That's exactly how I find my errors Patty. Sometimes I find them in time to fix them, sometimes I do not.

@Teacher Terry True. Auto correct does not always get things right. @helenbacque

@VaughanJB I feel ya. My brain is too fast also.
