Sonny Barger, Figurehead of Hells Angels, Dies at 83

The funeral will be well attended, both by Angels from around the world, AND at least 10 American Police agencies . The turnout will be huge, as all HA chapters will have to send a delegation. The foreign chapters located outside of the US will probably have trouble getting past CBP inspections at the airports . Most countries won't issue passports to convicted criminals. JImB.

I ran into the Hells Angels one time in the most unlikely spot. It was way up at the end of a narrow road in Coastal British Columbia on our way home from a vacation. We were parked behind them waiting for a ferry. There were only four of them all wearing their jackets. They were drinking beer straddling their bikes, brazenly throwing their empty cans on the road, and belching loudly. It was like a caricature of a stereotype. (I did not reprimand them for littering).

Had a Hells Angels house on E. 3rd St. off the Bowery in East Village NYC. Horrible people. Would sit on the stoop. Sometimes they would assault people just for passing by. At their local bar there was a sign reading "Check All Guns At the Door" and that was in the seventies. Even they knew enough to check their guns. It was always said cops relied on them to police "their" block. Saw crimes committed openly, usually from other side of the street.

They were very racist.

I am going to watch for the funeral, just to see how big it actually is ..... but the funeral might not even be "announced" I'm thinking the police would rather it not become a "big" deal.

I encountered them {H/A} once on the road, I was riding a metric / foreign motorcycle, three or four of them waved as they passed ..... other than that they never really noticed me. ....... So I suppose all those "be careful" warnings I heard about were way over hyped ?

I forgot to mention .... there were about 30-35 of them. Long line.

That's just awful! I can't think of anything more horrendous.

Abhorrent!

Appalling!

Atrocious!

Than belching loudly.
