Southern California has three mountain ranges above 10,000 feet, San Bernardino Mountains with Mt. San Gorgonio at 11,503 feet
or 3,506 meters being the highest.
Big Bear Lake (2.5 x 7 miles large) at 6,752 feet or 2,058 meters above sea level is a great cool place for fishing and recreation.
Onyx Summit is at 8,443 feet or 2,573 meters the highest road in Southern California. Well below the 10,000 feet of the Tioga Pass in the
Sierra Nevada that is the East Entrance of the Yosemite National Park; and far below the Pikes Peak Road Summit in Colorado / Rocky Mountains
at 14,115 feet or 4,267 meters.
In Southern California, you can go snow skiing in the mountains and water skiing in the ocean on the same day.
