61 year old man gored to death.

I have absolutely no sympathy whatsoever.

These festivals mean a bull is let loose while people run ahead. Sounds like the height of madness and is so cruel to the bulls. They die an awful death later in the ring.
Apparently 35,000 bulls suffer this dreadful fate. What a terrible thing to see as entertainment.

Running with the bulls always made about as much sense to me as swimming with alligators
Nope and Nope
Yes, I don't see this as entertainment either. I once saw a bull let loose on a city/town street in Spain where the townspeople heckled and jeered the bull. That bull attacked an SUV parked on the roadside like nothing I have ever seen. Puncture, the tires go flat, puncture the engine goes and gasoline sprays in an arc into the sky. Puncture the trunk is upended and that vehicle proceeds to be destroyed by one of the most powerful animals I have ever seen and I was so cheering for him. Awesome creature.

61 and running with bulls? Is this macho stupid or stupid macho? Did this guy have a death wish or is he just taking a break from playing video games? Bulls are big; bulls have horns and bulls can be mean. Cows tend to kick you when you milk them but bulls like to gorge you just for fun! I was born and raised in the country so take it from me. You wouldn't catch me fooling around with bulls and that's no "BS".

I was recently shocked to find out children can ride bulls in rodeos. And as Rose says it's always cruel to the bulls.

Fourteen year-old was trampled to death at a North Carolina rodeo in February and a 15 yeaar oldboy was trampled but survived last month at the Fayette county fair in Ohio. What are the parents thinking?

I agree, I feel more sorry for those poor bulls every year who are abused and killed. To hell with the people involved in this 'sport'.

The 61 yr old guy is a fellow human being, but somehow, I like the score of bulls vs machos. Machos-35,000, Bulls 1.

And is it me, or what? But doesn't bull fighting seem like throwing Christians to the lions in the Coliseum? The roaring crowd used to think that was a sport, too.

I assign this to ... you knew the risks when you decided to join in this event....
yes a person lost their life.......... but at what point are we going to acknowledge people do stupid things and if they lose their life doing it it was their choice to take the risk.
people put themselves in risky or potential risky situations every day ..... we can not bubble wrap the world ........to protect those who make poor choices.
