Speaking of bugs (real ones)

I found a bug in my favorite coffee cup and now I can't use it anymore because it just bugs me. I just can't bring myself to drink out of it anymore.

I'm not really squeamish about bugs but earwigs drive me bananas. I had two in the apartment so far.

Luckily this year they are rare in my area because of a tough winter.

Mosquitoes and blackflies are down in numbers as well. We can sit outside and enjoy a nice cool evening after a hot day.

Camper6, I know what you mean. I had a mouse in my place a few months ago. I'm wheelchair bound, and it walked right between my legs. I got him in a trap. But he could have been running around where I keep my pots and pans. I just had to wash them over and over. I probably washed off the paint, but I finally got to where I could use them.

With a name like Camper6, I’m surprised that you‘d be alarmed at a bug in your cup. Just wash it out good. On a rare occasion, we see a Florida giant roach in our kitchen by the sink, they like water. We can only hope it didn’t walk around in our dishes or we would be forever washing dishes.

I was helping my dad clean out dead palm fronds from two of his trees ....... ran into a nest of those damn things. I must of had 50 or more of them on me before I got down the ladder. I think their basically harmless? ....... but yeah their yuck-factor is way up there.

Did you see the episode of Night Gallery where the individual puts an earwig in a guy's ear...

It might have been a stink bug. The cup will be tossed. I bought a new one today. Peace of mind.

A few years ago, I was checking for a leak in some old plumbing pipes in my basement. I was eating a Persian Cucumber.
A huge rat ran up to me & stood on his hind legs. I gave him the rest of my cucumber. He took it out of my hand & ran away.
He must have read up on the health benefits of raw veggies.

They are always looking for water.
Where I worked we had a humidifier running constantly.
Next door was a grain sampling office, so you could expect mice showing up.
I was nominated to clean out the suicides. Imagine. You were spreading the air. When I think of it now. Yuck. Nowadays I would have to sterilize the container with Javex or something.
That didn't bother me as much as bugs..
Strangely spiders don't bother me at all. In fact I hate killing them because they eat bugs.
This pandemic has changed the way I think. I have never washed my hands so much in my whole life.
