Going to Walmart was my late mother's favorite "field trip". She'd go there, get a cart to lean on and then spend at least an hour going up and down the aisles marveling at all the things to buy. She'd get what she came for, go home and rest up after her "exercise program". It was warm in the winter and cool in the summer and she never got rained on in there.
She and the manager were great buddies (my mom had the talent of getting to be "great buddies" with about everyone she met). She had his cellphone number and she'd call him when she got parked and he'd run out with a cart and an umbrella if needed and escort her in or send someone else out. She was the Queen of Walmart.
