"Spy Tunes" Playlist - Songs and Instrumentals

The 'Bebop songs were generally Japanese lyrics, but sometimes in English, Russian, or Italian... or even mixed into Japanese songs in individual phrases.

This is a special cover performance of the show's ending theme The Real Folk Blues:

Most of the music was written and orchestrated by Yoko Kanno, a musical legend in anime.

Cowboy Bebop had a lot of good tunes that were used as background and mood music as well as some good songs. This one was used mostly as a backdrop to casino and mobster scenes:

Yes, very spy-y. :) Great sound. I'm going to have to check out more music by them. Thank you for sharing these.
Here's another slick song I absolutely love. Some don't realize that Marvin was more than a vocalist but also a brilliant composer and musician.

Here's another sourced from anime: Living Inside the Shell song by Steve Conte, from Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex

Here's another mixed-language song, an opening sequence:

GITS: SAC is pretty information-dense storytelling, and not for everyone. A lot goes by as text on screens or fast-paced spoken and "brain to brain" dialog over data links between characters. Even the action scenes can contain bursts of intense dialog.

Characters interacting with the mini-cybertank Tachikoma AIs can be disconcerting as they unintentionally attain a certain level of sentience. They begin to feel a desire for communion with a machine "higher power" and in the end even engage in willing self-sacrifice to protect the humans they have bonded with.
