Starbuck's Customers

A friend gave me a $50.00 gift certificate for Starbucks for my birthday. I used it for an Americano - which is 3 espresso shots in a regular-size coffee. It should be strong, but it was very weak. I've had that drink before & it was very good. They must be cheaping out on something.
I threw it away after 2 sips.

@Beezer ... Our daughter would come home from her pizza job with the same type of stories. You brought back some memories.
It's amazing what people will find to complain about. These are the same people who won't leave tips for the kids either.

I probably wouldn't last long if I worked in one of those places, but I would have fun while it lasted .

Love Starbucks and Waves here in BC, Canada. If you work in any front staffing job, there are so many lovely people that you ended up helping or serving.....but it only takes one little shit to ruin my whole day (when I was working at a local college).

Here in Canada, Tim Hortons is popular. Very busy, with long lineups. Their coffee doesn't even taste good. Some folks think they put drugs in the coffee to get people hooked.
It washes down the donuts. I don’t like either. Obviously I don’t know much based on the lineups.

Me, I like Starbucks if I’m travelling. When they ask for the blend I’d like, I always ask for the one that was most recently brewed. I drink it black, no sugar.

Sometimes in the summer, I’ll have a frap. Too many calories even without the whipped cream, so it’s a rare treat.

So many coffees @ coffee shops are [IMO] weak tasting. I drink Starbucks [French Roast] at home, and like the taste. I started buying it on a regular basis also because it is just easier to store in the vaccum bags, than it is to store those others in plastic jugs.

I seldom go out for coffee any longer, but when I do I usually look for McDonalds .

Not especially fond of Expresso or heavily roast coffee. I like, non boiling water pour over using thick paper, black, light to medium roast, and drinkable immediately without scalding.
I live relatively close to Seattle, close enough to where I hop on an express bus on senior fare (US$1) and be at StarBucks #1 in 40 minutes. There's always line at #1 (Pike Place). I often tell the last in line that there is another StarBucks on the corner, which is larger, no line, and better service. People will wait the 30-60 minutes. Alas, they always reply, they Want the Experience of buying from store#1.

Since all those days drinking coffee out of one of those huge coffee urns, I like my coffee
boiled, left to sit, reheated/boiled and when it can float a Horseshoe, it's just right.

Seems the personnel at the chow hall took pleasure in how long that one 'tank' could be served.
Taking a break during the many hours on the flight-line, you would drink anything if it helped
you get through your shift.

Last time I was at a Starbucks traveling, I got a shot of Espresso in my coffee
and bought a bag of Chocolate Covered Espresso beans.

Enjoyed the beans and washed them down with the coffee. Close, but not the same.

My Dad would reheat his coffee too. I couldn't drink it. Guess between the depression of making due & the Navy, he learned not to waste anything. He would have never paid the price Starbucks ask for there coffee, I can hear his @#*% now.

When I wintered in Victoria, there was a Starbucks in the main part of town and another right across the street, and I think there was one more two blocks down. And they were all doing well as far as I could see.

I love getting Starbucks gift cards! It is a treat I normally wouldn't get. You just have to find "your" drink so then when you go it's no hassle and you're happy.

I never even drank coffee before I was middle aged. My parents only made 1960’s “instant” coffee at home, and it had nothing to commend it. That soured me to coffee until the age of 40 or so, at which time I experienced real freshly and properly made coffee, and haven’t departed from it since.

I’ve only purchased from a Starbucks store once. It was good coffee, but the $5 or so price for their smallest size put me off. I’ll buy Starbucks coffee pods when they’re on sale, and make it in my Keurig. When Starbucks, Pete’s, or Newman’s coffee isn’t on sale, I’ll buy cheaper “everyday” brands that may not be gourmet, but are perfectly satisfactory. Anything beats 1960’s “instant” coffee…

I read that one of the first things people give up when a money crunch comes up is Starbucks coffee.

You can buy a whole chicken for the price of their coffee.
This is what has happened to me. I love Starbucks tea lattes but the price is too high these days so I've switched allegiance to a coffee/tea shoppe near work and though it's not quite as delicious, it's not bad. :coffee:;)

I drink plain black coffee and I think McDonald's coffee is pretty good. I rate it above Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts. Plus, I can sit inside and use their wi fi to do whatever using my iPad and drink 2 medium or large coffees for the price of 1. I usually will also buy 1 cookie. I also ask for half regular and half decaf.

I like some of their blends, especially their Christmas blend that I've received as a gift before.....but I buy cheaper brands for my 'every morning 2 cups a day' coffee.

I guess it's been longer than I thought since I've been to Starbucks. I can't imagine a $5 coffee. When I was old enough to drink coffee it was 10 cents. Of course, it was rot gut, but still...
