Is anybody else watching this remarkable new series on HBO Max? Talk about timing! It shows what happens when a virulent strain of flu wipes out 99% of the human population, both in the immediate aftermath and 20 years later. Fascinating to see the new strains of civilization among the survivors.

It was a little bit confusing to me, popping back and forth between the present and 20 years into the future, but I found it very understandable on a second viewing. Beautiful cinematography and acting, and obviously more than a little scary in these times.

Let me know what you think. I didn't read the book, so I have no basis of comparison.

No, I haven't seen it but I do find movies that switch time between the present or the past/future very confusing. Just the present is confusing enough for me!

I have not heard of it, but I will definitely record it. We were watching Hot Zone: Anthrax but got bored with it. Thanks for the recommendation!

Okay we watched Episode 1 tonight; I liked it quite a bit but Huzz didn't (but he doesn't like much of anything). I'm going to continue watching it on my own. I'm embarrassed to say that I don't remember enough about the book to know how closely it's following; all I can remember is I did like the book. šŸ˜„

I searched this on HBO via Directv and nothing came up. Could this be on HBO Max?
Yes. I've only watched 2 episodes so far but like it. In Ep. 2, they had an actor who's one of my favorites & I don't get to see enough of & hope they have him in more: Enrico Colantoni (Galaxy Quest and Elias in Person of Interest).

Thanks for the trailer, kburra. It captures the haunting flavor of this series very well.

dseag2, yes, it's on HBO Max.
