Stocking Up On Toilet Paper

I don't see panic buying here owing to the Coronavirus, although shelves tend to run short of milk, bread, and eggs prior to a big snowstorm. Then there are people who buy stuff on sale whether they need it or not, thereby creating spot shortages!

Whenever we were low on toilet paper, my dad would recite this verse:
"In the days of old, when knights were bold,
they rolled on the grass to wipe their a--."

I went shopping today... I went to 2 large supermarkets and the shelves were as full as they always are on a normal day...except the areas where the sanitisers would be, and the generic cold and flu meds and boxed tissues were raided.. .and shelves were empty...

Other than that, The only thing that was different was that the cashiers and the shelf fillers in both supermarkets were all wearing latex gloves...

Gun shop this afternoon, I was the only customer. Foodland , grocery store not many people at all but I did notice several carts loaded with paper towels and butt wipe. I came out with 3 boxes of cold serial l, hot dogs.

My neighbours are set for the next millenium. There's 3 of them, and each one of them is grossly obese.

They've been out and about for the last week, buying up loads of toilet paper, meat, tinned food and whatever else they could fit in the boot of their car.

Sometimes they even went out twice a day!

I saw this thread earlier in the week and thought, "Where"?

Yesterday I went shopping, just a normal monthly shop in
two different supermarkets, both were fairly well stocked
except in the Kitchen Paper/Toilet Paper isles, both were
out!

That was in an Asda and a Sainsbury's.

Mike.

yep the 2 I mentioned above Mike were Waitrose and Morrisons

Went to WM today. All paper goods at usual levels expect the 3-packs of facial tissues. Wasn’t looking for hand San so don’t know. Looked like any normal morning. I am getting a few extra things a little at a time, not much storage space in my 1 BR apt. I do have an underlying feeling that at times the “veneer of civilized behavior” in this state is pretty thin tho. Make of it what you will.
