Stop drinking bottled water

Our tap water is excellent for drinking, only thing is it's very hard water... it's supposed to be good for your heart. I have in the last couple of year been using bottle water in the car and at my bedside for convenience. I've now stopped that and I take a stainless steel cup out with me.. and one by the bed..

Funny water should be being mentioned today because I was talking to my water suppliers on the phone this morning. I get a big reduction for living alone now.. and also am now marked as priority if anything goes wrong.. water bursts, leaks, etc

I drink rain water at home (of course only possible if you have a rain water tank) and I use refillable water bottles to take to work etc.

However sometimes I buy bottled water if I am out somewhere, playing sport or whatever - not bothered by this.

It ma y present a risk (what in life doesnt?) but I think the risk is very very small compared to other known risk factors like weight, smoking and so on

Kudos to you for sticking with good ol' tap water all these years. Looks like you've been doin' your body and the environment a big favor without even knowing it.
The issue of microplastics and nanoplastics in bottled water is definitely alarming and eye-opening. Those tiny particles can have some serious health implications, as the new study suggests. It's pretty scary to think that somethin' we've been led to believe is healthier and safer than tap water could actually be doin' more harm than good.
That's why it's so important to be informed and make choices based on reliable information, like the annual water quality reports you receive from your local water district. Keepin' an eye on those reports is a great way to ensure that the water you're drinkin' is safe and clean.
It's unfortunate that it's taken this long for the dangers of bottled water to come to light, but I'm glad to see more people becoming aware and makin' the switch back to tap water.

I always have a huge glass of ice water from the tap when I'm home. I always carried a plastic bottle of water to the gym until I saw this news story. I fished through our cabinets and found a steel tumbler that keeps the water cold. I now take that with me and either refill it at the gym or at home.

But at this point, the damage has probably been done.

Being alive is bad for you and leads to death in 100% of all cases. You must therefore not be born as everything you eat, drink, touch, smell etc. will eventually kill you. Well, that's what it sounds like some times. Oh, and be careful not to breathe either especially near roads because the nano particles shed by car tyres - including electric ones- are more toxic than the exhaust fumes.

I think I'll just try to get on with life.

I use a Pur filter on my faucet because I don't like the chlorine smell.

I used to drink tap water that I put in one of those plastic bottles. I knew then that it wasn't the healthiest. It was just easier to carry around. It was mostly for emergencies when I was out. I mostly drank water at home from the tap.

A reverse osmosis system installed under the kitchen sink with a spigot on top works quite well.
Be sure to get a Filmtec 1812-75 membrane along with 1 micron sediment and carbon block pre filters.
You only need a 2 canister system not 3, which then makes an excellent 3 stage system with the membrane.
I doubt my apartment management would approve that. They do not normally approve changes unless it is requested by a doctor. My sink and counter area around it is very small so I did look at portable water filters but the good ones are too pricey for me.
