Street brawl in Suburbia. Kangaroo boxing match

Truly an incredible sight!
Wonder where they came from, Dame Warrigal?
Notice, not a single human being or animal in the street!!!
Kangaroos are known to be very fierce, not cute and cuddly at all!
It does not say which town or suburb?
 
Incredible is right. Do kangaroos normally wander into neighborhoods like this?
Could this be two males fighting during mating season? ARE there mating seasons?
 

Just when you thought you had seen everything, etc, etc.
I'm just thankful I didn't look out my friend window and seen that - especially since I am on the other side of the planet.
But its a fascinating video, very surreal. Nice looking neighborhood too.

I'd say that this is a relatively new suburb. Behind the houses there seems to be undeveloped land.
There is only one alpha kangaroo in a mob and he has to defend his mating rights.
As far as I can tell it's mating season all year round.

A female kangaroo is always pregnant. She will have one in the pouch and another one in the uterus in suspended development.
If she loses her pouch joey, the other one immediately finishes developing and is born very soon.
Then she mates again to make sure there is always an embryo in reserve.

In the heat of the day they all lie down in the shade and do most of their grazing in the early morning and late afternoon.

Young males smaller than these are constantly play fighting to test themselves. This pair might not have been all that serious either if neither of them is the actual alpha male but they would have ambitions.
 
Warrigal, Guess what; Last night while watching the 6 o'clock news, they put on this same video re: the fighting kangaroos. The
EXACT same one. They just aired a few minutes, but it seems to show that the news is world wide.
