Study: Napping linked to Alzheimer's disease

I wake up very early, but don't want to take a nap. If I desperately need one, I'll sit on the couch, call my cat to sit on me and sleep for about 45 minutes.

Well, I sure hope that we all stay with it long enough to remember to come here. At least if we talk nonsense, we'll understand each other :ROFLMAO:

Study: Napping linked to Alzheimer's disease

Whatever
So is old age
....and old age is linked to napping.....and death

My lady and I have fallen into the habit of rising early
Very early
Like 3 or 4am early

Gives us about 4 maybe 5 hrs sleep

then get on the web, or I fiddle with the budget

We both get re-sleepy and mosey/race each other... stumbling to back to sweet beddy bye

I call it 'the 2nd sleep'

It rocks so hard, I seldom miss it

It's the only sleep that comes calling with complete consciousness
softly drifting...drifting into sweet sweet slumber
snort myself awake.....open one eye.....turn the pillow
drift back....waaaay back

......drooling a river

I highly recommend it

I do grab a nap on the lounge when the sun is out
Did that today

Wait.....

here it comes again

lay-Z-boy is tilted back

I've been fed

lights are off

TV is on (who cares)

Interesting, I do pretty much the same, and also call it my 2nd sleep.

I have a hard time connecting napping with Alzheimers. I come from a culture that thrives on napping. In Greece, the majority of its citizens (and other countries) nap during their "siesta" where even the stores close during the day and open after their nap. Does that mean all these people are going to get Alzheimer's? I don't think so. My dad in his retirement would stay up late until 1am and take a nap faithfully each afternoon. He never had Alzheimers.

Also, I read somewhere that people who don't get enough sleep were more likely to get Alzheimers. Because sleep allows the brain to clean itself and get rid of all the gook that has built up during the day.

This article below asks if there really is a cause between sleep and Alzheimers:
