They sure are stupid, hubby used to get called out for the idiots quite often, they are dicing with death, so many large tree limbs float in the river and you can't see them, they need to make the penalties a lot higher to deter the little B.....ds

Well, I've kinda got to agree with all of you, but we use to jump off of top rail on the Red Hill bridge. It has since been torn down as you can see it was in pretty rough shape. About the only thing that happened was an occasional cut from beer bottles thrown off bridge.

But, like you said, stupid kids. I lost a nephew from diving into a shallow pool. Landed on his head and that was that. RIP Brian.

We have a similar situation here (Los Angeles, Calif. Harbor area) but these perps are bent on suicide; MOST

of whom succeed. We simply can't plug ALL the holes.

This is our Melbourne, FL causeway. There have been several lives lost due to jumping off the top on a dare, I presume. Mostly young kids with a few drinks under their belt.

No - if they're caught they should be thrown in prison. Increase the penalties and you'll decrease the incidents, guaranteed.

That being said, I agree with Pappy that kids will be kids and they'll always want to jump into the water - it's what kids do. Maybe they should do as the one kid said and make something safer for them, instead of spending all that money on bogus preventive measures.
