Sunglasses, do you like wearing them? For many wearing them is a part of ones essence~

I had sunglasses from a very early age. However, by the time I hit 12 years old and the fact of being very tall for my age, I suffered having to sit at the back in class.

I never saw anything written on the black or greenboard from 6 to 12. Thankfully, after another 6 years and a change of optician, I was diagnosed with photophobia and I began having grey progressive sun-reactive lenses.

Beneficial to reducing migraines and enjoying sunny days. Indoors, people don't understand why we've only have one light on low. Night lights in stairs. Both daughter and I see better in the dark. I know ... strange but it's been useful.

Only occasionally, always poloids when fishing.

On my last visit to the eye doctor he recommended wearing them more often, and a brimmed hat. I have very slowly advancing macular degeneration and he said it would help.
Yeah, poloroids for fishing

Prescription shades for driving
Of which I now use when walking from the parking lot to the store
Don't have to wait for what's left of my eyes to adjust when entering the store
Macular degeneration has kicked my butt

I didn't use sunglasses for most of my life, because the sun didn't bother my eyes. I thought it was because I have brown eyes.
That's what I was told, too. Dark eyes can tolerate the sun better than fair-colored eyes.

My eyes are a really dark green color but the irises started lightening up several few years ago. Now my irises have a distinct ring of bluish-grey around them, and my eyes are sensitive to light. I also need more light just to see; like to read and sew and draw...as though I have fair-colored eyes.

I need sunglasses on sunny days.

Please don't be offended, but you look like a gangster. A sharp dressed gangster, but nonetheless, a gangster. You would fit right in up in Brooklyn or Queens.
No offence at all. It's not so much gangster quips that I get, although someone once did a very poor imitation of Cagney's famous line: "You dirty rat!" These days it's more: "Hey! Indy, nice hat!"

Nope, don't own a pair. I wear regular glasses around the house and contacts when I'm dressed up.

My eyes are very light blue and light sensitive, but I'm just not outside enough to bother with sun glasses unless I'm doing a bit of gardening and then I wear my wide brimmed hat.

Where I sit at the computer, the sun streams in from the left and bother's that eye, so I've folded a sheet of green construction paper into a four by eight strip. I put that against the side of my face, held there by the left arm of my glasses and it blocks all the irritating light. Talk about looking cool!

On the advice of my ophthalmologist, I always wear good quality sunglasses when outdoors during the day to protect my eyes.

Short story. Back in my college days, I got a pair of those prescription glasses that automatically darken in sunlight. Back then they were marketed as "photosuns" or something like that. They took about a minute to adjust to the ambient light, but I thought they were pretty cool. Then one time I was on a road trip and drove into a long, dark highway tunnel. I was instantly blinded by the darkness. Definitely no longer cool!

I wear shades everyday and not just because of the sun. I love them as a fashion accessory and have colors for every outfit and occasion. I had a wonderful pair of shades that actually brightened up cloudy days so the road was bright as it would on a sunny day. I wore them for driving on cloudy days and at twilight, but I accidentally left them at a yard sale one Saturday and was heartbroken when I drove back to the place to see they were gone. :( I never found another pair just like them and forgot the manufacturer so I cannot buy another pair. Sunglasses as quite popular where I live. Everyone of every age seems to wear them. I'm eyeballing a pair with pale purple earpieces and mirror lenses.

New cars have UV protection in the windshields. The prescription sunglasses that darken automatically don’t work inside a car. I have to wear fit-over glasses. I keep them in the centre console.

For foggy days I have fit-overs with yellow lenses.

I love sunglasses! For me they are a fashion statement. I wear certain ones to go with my outfit. I have many pairs. I have some really cool vintage ones.
I also love the outdoors and live close to the water so I really need them outdoors. I also have dry eye and they protect my eyes from wind as well as the sun.
I wear them even when it’s cloudy.

My prescription is very complex. I wear tri-focal. The last pair of sungjasses I had were for distance only since I couldn’t afford the whole prescription. The only problem was that I couldn’t read the gps with them and would have to pull over and change glasses, then put my sunglasses back on to drive again. It didn’t work very well. This time when my glasses were up for renewal I opted for the glasses that do both since they weren’t much more than my regular prescription glasses.
