Supermarket

had to go shopping this morning, top up beer and food,,,,,,,
i hate supermarkets,,today, old farts stopping and having a chunter, blocking the shelves off, kids screaming and hurtling around with the trollys,,stackers blocking the aisles, idiots in the car park cant park grrrr,
anyone else hate this chore
I know I am a grumpy old woman but I really can't stand wailing kids. I also hate the music which is on often too loud. Just noise and I can't think about what I need to buy.

Our son does all that for us. I don't know what we would do without him.
Reminds me when mom had become unsteady more often, I'd go shopping for her, she'd make a list. One morning I left, to come home to find the police and fire dept there!

Seems she'd fallen and the phone was near, but the cop was too fat to get through the window, so she crawled over to unlock the door

Then the fire dept arrived to help her into her chair and they were checking her out, when I arrived. After that, I made sure she was up and sitting in her chair before I went shopping.

Today the ‘15 or less self-checkout tills’ had at least 3 of the 8 occupied by folks with 100 or so items. It would be nice if the attendant would have taken them over to the other area. It defeated the efficiency concept. Those with too much were extra slow because they had no place to put their scanned items.

I love to shop...anywhere..supermarkets, Costco, Dollar Tree, Walmart, Home Depot, thrift-consignment shops...you name it. Blessedly, we have a supermarket in our neighborhood that is not as large as its sister supermarket (part of a chain). I get pretty much most of what I need there with none of what you speak of. I do try to go when these places are likely to be less busy.

I've seen some attendants actually turn them away to normal lines. They think they'll get a lower price?

No, they see the line is shorter and they’re too important to have to wait. One day, I watched one woman make the attendant help her with almost every scan.
