The 850 people who live in Livingston, IL, were very surprised when the Black hawk police helicopter landed in the playground of the small grade school there, and then soon became shocked and worried when the chopper was followed by SWAT teams, Homeland Security vehicles, Border Patrol, and several armored vehicles.

The school was not told about this happening, and the law enforcement would not even explain to people why they were there at all. Some people were told by the waiting SWAT teams that they were staging there for "something big" expected to happen.
Other people reported that there was a police raid on a house just out of town , and thought the SWAT teams might be there for extra backup if needed; but at this point , apparently; no one really knows why this happened.

One thing for sure, it seems to be part of the ongoing conditioning of the American people to expect heavily armed military-style invasions anywhere and any time....

Watching that video I wouldn't exactly call that a "swarm", but it was a bit strange. Probably an exercise, since they were letting the kids peek into the chopper.

In any case, I agree that it's just more conditioning.

re:All this for a child-porn suspect, overkill I think!

Maybe they were getting bored hanging around the station all day with all that mobile equipment around them.

strange place for a drill. police are now getting used military hardware used in Afghanistan

War Gear Flows to Police Departments

NEENAH, Wis. — Inside the municipal garage of this small lakefront city, parked next to the hefty orange snowplow, sits an even larger truck, this one painted in desert khaki. Weighing 30 tons and built to withstand land mines, the armored combat vehicle is one of hundreds showing up across the country, in police departments big and small.
