Sweet Potato Or Pumpkin Pie?

Pumpkin for sure. We always had sweet potatoes as a side dish.
Years ago a group of us got together for holiday dinners. Once we decided to do classic American dishes that we heard about and hadn’t tried. The cook, who was darned good at it, did the vegetables. She made the green bean casserole (yummy) and sweet potato pie with marshmallows on top (yuck). I’ve taken a little bit at a buffet and still hated it.

I've tasted both and like Pumpkin pie better. I've only tried sweet potato pie 🥧 once and maybe they didn't have a good recipe for it because it hardly had any taste.

I like them both.

I grew up with a spicy pumpkin pie that was often made with homegrown winter squash.

When it comes to sweet potato pie, simple is best. I’m not a fan of over the top versions from the food network.

Pumpkin pie needs fresh whipped cream while sweet potato pie is best served without anything extra.

A third option is carrot pie!

Use your favorite pumpkin pie recipe with an equivalent amount of cooked and seasoned carrots that have been pureed in the blender.
