Swinging Infant Baby Yoga Classes, Distrubing to Watch!

I saw something like this on cable TV a long time ago, couldn't believe how this lady, and I think that one was in the US, was swinging this baby around while she was standing, by the baby's arms, legs, ankles, etc. The baby I saw did not cry, but I thought it was very unhealthy for the child's body and brain.

This is a short video of a Swinging Baby Yoga Class in Egypt. The babies are thrown around like ragdolls, and they also do shock therapy in water with the babies. What do you think about it?

I do not have a problem with the water part. However I have a serious problem with the swinging baby. I saw some moves that could cause shaken Baby Syndrome. I think it is very dangerous, and am not sure how it is suppose to be connected to yoga.

Idiots.

I agree with Judi - this has nothing to do with yoga. If it does, then the movements must have names like "Exalted Infant Drowns Near Shore" and "Dislocate the Celestial Baby's Shoulder".

I was unable to watch this from this thread so I goggled it. I initially saw the one at the beach. However, there is an ABC action news report. It showed a video of a yoga instructor in I think Russia. She was not calling it yoga but some form of infant gymnastics. Apparently it was made about 2 years ago. This video is also very disturbing. They ended with saying that the video was done 2 years ago and the baby now appears happy and perfectly normal. I think it is way too early to make that determination. The effects of TMI may not show up for years. A good indicator will be when the child starts school. Again I think this is extremely dangerous and is child abuse and totally idiotic.

Sorry about that Judi. The one from Russia must have been the one I saw on TV years ago, my husband and I watched her wondering what she was thinking, and of course, feeling concern for the baby. I'd like to slap them too Pappy! Phil, you crack me up! :p

This is the woman that I saw on the television, in this one, one of the babies is crying. I can't believe some people, this makes me very angry.

I have to cringe because it reminds me of when our youngest g/daughter was about 2 months old, she was a collicky baby and daughter was told by the midwife to turn the baby upside down and swing her slowly from side to side. No matter that the baby had her mouth open drawing in more wind, but of course what would my generation know.

This midwife guy, Charkovsky, who developed this also created the "water birth" method in 1963, advocating underwater birthing.

In 1992, he performed a demonstration with a child of 21 months who swam with his hands tied behind his back for 33 kilometers in a pool in 15 hours, 2 minutes and 28 seconds without stopping, "proof that humans can live water, eat and sleep while swimming."

He's also big into dolphin research with the likes of Dr. Lilly - maybe he should restrict his work to them.

All I can think of is how terrifying that must be for the babies. The only benefit I can see in that is improving their adrenalin production! Falling and drowning must be up there at the top of our instinctual fears. It makes me nervy just watching it!

Why does calling it 'Yoga' exempt it from what anyone else would be charged for as child abuse? Those poor little joints and brains. These lunatics and their guru need locking up. ... after being 'waterboarded' and swung around a bit!
