OMG has it been that long since the song and dance over that?

[Story]
I was watching the coverage of the celebrations and was struck by an interview with a man who helped build it, and still works on keeping her pretty. She's a high maintenance lady.

He's a Greek immigrant and first saw the beginnings of the Opera House foundations from the ship he arrived on.
It was love at first sight he said, and he set about getting a job building it. He was married in the same year so he said it was like marrying two wives at once, both being the loves of his life.

He's been faithful to both for 45 years now. He's always worked there, when the building ended, he did maintenance, and now that he's getting on does cleaning there.
He had tears in his eyes when retirement was mentioned. He loves her, he doesn't want to leave her. "How can you just walk away from someone you love and have been 'married' to for 45 years?" He doesn't want to retire, ever. He just wants to go on keeping his great lady love, his Mistress as he calls her, looking at her best.

He went on to thank OZ, and the Australians who had allowed him to live with his two great loves. For the Opera House which had given him the life and work he loved and which allowed to him to support his other great loves, his wife, and his children.

What a great man. Would that all could live their lives with the work and women they love, and truly appreciate their luck in being able to do it.

I can't imagine retirement having a good outcome for him, I hope he isn't ever forced to take it.
