Tallest building in L.A.

I often find it interesting to notice how the skylines of various cities have changed over the years. There seems to be a point where the beautiful buildings of old were overtaken by the monstrous skyscratchers of the modern era. The physics involved in the construction of these things is pretty interesting but you can have 'em. Frankly, you can have La-La-Land, too. As for building in earthquake country . . . that line was passed long ago and withstanding The Big One is just a joke.

They say this new building in L.A. will sway 5 feet in the winds.
I was in the Eiffle tower at Las Vegas and when that tower started swaying we were all told to leave.

I've never understood why the architects that design for a known earthquake zone insist on building vertically. I know space is at a premium, but c'mon!

It's like they're tempting Fate.

When I lived in NY I often went to the WTC or Empire State Building and marveled at the view from the observation decks, but in the back of my mind was always what would happen if something broke.

I guess 9/11 answered that question for me. Now I'm content to stay on ground level.

Amazing to go up in a tall building .. the lift goes so fast your ears pop lol.. but I remember walking along Wiltshire Boulevarde when I stayed in
LA.. so many tall buildings these days, maybe they will be a building for the future for homes.. or apartments.. there is lots already ..
