I'm estimating percentages here, but I'd say that 95% of them think all teachers are stupid, and they learn more from their friends and Twitch, YouTube, and other streaming sites than from their teachers. 80% feel that school is a total waste of time, and 70% of those think school should be taught online for 2 hours a day (maximum). 60% feel there's too much politics in school and that teachers talk too much about current political issues. All of these kids have said they mainly go to school to see their friends, and 90% feel they don't really learn anything in school.

As for compassion, that's limited to things that effect the kids directly. Probably 70 to 80% of the kids I'm talking about would laugh and giggle at that teacher. The girls for sure would cringe and say "OMG, get me double-O H! (out of here!)." That teacher's fake boobs would have no societal or political significance whatsoever to your average teen. They'd be a joke, period.

I haven't been around any lately, but that's kinda the type of kids I was familiar with.
Good to see the young people you know aren't shut down with 'there's no such thing as wrong,' 'you can't say anything isn't ok,' etc.
It certainly doesn't do kids any good to not give them any values, or, worse, to go into major criticism-mode if they express any.

They have to...they are between a rock and a hard place !!
 

As I already commented, this person has a problem between his ears, not between his legs or hanging off his chest. If he wants to be a freak he's free to be so. I'm sure his students are getting just as big a laugh as he is. The school is displaying a degree of stupidity far beyond stupid.

It was a stupid thing to do, but if the person were a good teacher otherwise I can see the defense. As ridiculous as it was a one time mistake like this should not end a career.

The fact that the teacher was a man undergoing some kind of sex change thing certainly adds to the headline value, but probably isn't otherwise relevant. It would however be a hard thing to explain to those in his/her classes, probably a first time experience for most of the students...

Yes, this teacher's exaggerated prosthetics are over the top. On the other hand, when I grew up even subtle LGBTQs were the subject of witchhunts, lynched, vilified, humiliated, shamed, shunned, estranged by family and friends, fired without cause, arrested, and largely forced to live their lives in secret - or to marry in a heterosexual union despite having little attraction to their spouse.

Many were suicidal and a fair number succeeded in their quest to end their misery.

I'll gladly take someone wearing giant boob prosthetics over a return to what we were.

You make a very valid point, however I do think that someone with gender issues who wants to be accepted is making a rod for their back by wearing a prosthetic of infeasible large proportions.

The point I made about merciless schoolboys is, and always will be, valid. Schoolboys have a lot of growing up to do. Would it not have been far more easier, and helpful, for those pupils to understand had the choice of prosthetic been of a size that those pupils are used to seeing?

I think so, both for the students and the school administration. Realistically proportionate prosthetic breasts, sure, no problem. I have no doubt the situation would have been handled differently if this was a female teacher transitioning to male, who wore a ridiculously oversized prosthetic full-package.

Exactly. Also "Manufacturing Technology" suggests practical workshop sessions. OHS issues here, not only the fake breasts. The streaming long hair is also problematic. He can save the costume for the Gay Pride parade and dress professionally for work.

Exactly. I do not take offence easily but I object to this parody of a woman's body. No doubt the boys thought it very funny but any girls in the class, especially if they are few in number, would be embarrassed and possibly feel humiliated. Teachers should not be inviting ribald comments from their students.
 
Any taxpayers going to revolt when the School Board approves this person's paid Medical Leave for back, neck, and shoulder pain due to his entirely voluntary and ludicrous faux breast apparatus?

There's tolerance and then there's crossing the boundaries of decency.

Not much education being accomplished while this Theater of the Absurd is in residence. I feel sorry for the students and the taxpayers.

I agree. What class is this person teaching? Maybe the bigger question is, "Where do we draw the line?" It's like "Here we go with indoctrinating kids again." When does this crap stop or someone puts a stop to it? Way too much PC going on for me to deal with. This reminds me of the old saying, "The crazies have been let out of the looney bin again."

And by the way, if this article isn't a hoax, the person appearing in it certainly is. It seems to me that he is nothing more than an attention grabbing misfit among impressionable kids. Wearing this silly costume to teach school kids makes no sense whatsoever. I ask again, "What subject is this person teaching?" I would also like to ask what this person's point is for dressing like that, but we all know the answer to that question. Sick, just plain sick.

Some people do things for shock-value. Perhaps that was most likely the case.

This also occurred to me: while it varies from place to place, in this area students have dress-codes.. so why shouldn't teachers???
 
Firefox, I remember that Far Side cartoon very well! Since I was a teacher, I certainly identified with it. Allowing this type of nonsense is wokeness run amok.
