I thought it would be kinda cool to hear about y'all's pets! Tony ( the hubs) and I have a sweet girl that stole our hearts 5 years ago.

We had just moved into our new place and a week after, Tony was out in the small area that has a privacy fence around it. He turned around and there was this little puppy coming out from under the porch barking at him as if he had invaded her territory. He called me out there to check it out. She was this cute little fluffy tan puppy with a purple tongue. She ran back under the porch and the only way to get her to come back out was a piece of chicken I had in the fridge. We had talked about getting a dog, but not a week after we moved in! LOL. She came out from under that porch covered in dirt, so we named her Dusty.

We think she is Chow mixed with Golden Retriever. She is still with us and we wouldn't take anything for her. We kept her in that fenced area since the entire yard is not fenced in.

The first week I would go out to check on her and feed her and she would be gone. I would go back into the house, and she would be sitting out on the front porch at the door, lol. Tony had to put some wire around the base of the privacy fence until she was too big to crawl under it.

Then we started letting her inside, caught her only ONE time about to pee on the floor, Tony took her outside, said No, and she got it!! She never did it again, and no he didn't yell or raise his voice at her. She will fight tooth and nail now to get outside and do her business. At night, she will scape her paw on the bed to wake one of us, if he doesn't wake up, she goes to my side of the bed, lol.

Tony has taught her to "talk" , and it's truly funny. Those two are best buds. She is always in the garden with us, and in the summer will find the shadiest place she can to watch everything going on. Does she sound a lil bit spoiled?? Nahhhhh. She seems to really understand what we say to her, she's extremely smart. I'm not biased one bit either. I could go on forever with stories about this dog, but I won't.

Diwundrin...i've always said she was meant to be with us. She's quite a gift. And yep...this clearly is HER house, LOL

Dusty looks like a very sweet girl, it was fate that brought you together! :love_heart: This is my Manx cat Loki, and my Standard Schnauzer Hans. They're good buddies, crashed out together on one of our camping trips.

Strange, so many Schnauzers. That's the breed I was researching when Belle popped into my life.
They seem such bossy, sassy little 'people'. I think the challenge appealed to me. Belle has the same sass, she's just a different form and colour. It's fun to have company that is always trying to out-think you.

Hans is a handsome dog, and so his cat buddy Loki.

Belle, is such a cutie, we thought about a Jack Russell, but decided on a Schnauzer and he was sure a good fit for us and he sure keeps us on our toes.

How Dusty adopted you Seabreezy and your husband is such a great story with such a happy ending.

Bella is such a sweetie too. What a face, I love white Schnauzers.

The only bad thing about Schnauzer's is that they are too darn cute and too damn smart. Jetson is the center of our world. He is the Clown Prince of the house.

Our dear member Ozarkgal has been MIA for awhile now on the forum, we miss her very much and hope she's well and will return to say hellol :love_heart: :missyou: I couldn't let this thread go by without mentioning her 3 lovely mini schnauzers, which she refers to as "The Gangstas". Here's her album with their pics...https://www.seniorforums.com/album.php?albumid=6

It was Christmas time a few years ago up on the vineyard. Neighbor asked if I'd seen the little kitty hanging around. There were a lot of ferals and strays yowling and fighting at night but hadn't seen her particular discovery. She told me she and her daughter had fed it and I thought, "Great. Now, a stray cat will be hanging around causing trouble." The next day, sure enough, heard plaintive cries from the woods as the dogs had it treed. Called them off and she ran away. Then, she started crying around my door. Tried ignoring her until during a very stormy night my heart said enough and I opened the door for her. She ran right in and hopped up on the bed talking a blue streak about the cruel world outside and purred her many thanks. Thus, the meeting of That Guy and Hello Kitty. I love her and she's a great companion.

This is my daughter on her horse Brisco. We have a tough time keeping weight on him, but he's slowly getting healthier.
